Do NOT send your family to The Carlyle. I have thought the care would improve and tried to give it time. Wow was I wrong. Care is only getting worse if that is possible. The Carlyle is not staffed adequately. Some staff tries but the majority are nothing but stretched to the maximum leaving minimal time to provide care to your loved one. The staff simply does not pay attention to safety details. Nursing Management and the director are all talk and minimal action. Care is at times absolutely pitiful. Have had too many incidents now which are absolutely negligent. Even basics of care are skipped regularly including oral care and shower days.

Some of the nurses at this facility very strong foriegn accents that make communication hard, and they do not care about their patients. They act like they are inconvenienced, and they allowed my sister to sit in a soiled diaper, and be dirty for long periods of time. We found her soiled in a bed with no sheets and no one coming to change her while we were there. They do not listen to the family of their patients, they only argue and get an attitude if you try to tell correct them on anything. The nurses act dramatic, lie and exaggerate situations to get their way. I do not recommend this place at all. Don't take your loved ones here, it's not worth it, and it's a good place.
If I could leave negative stars I would. My grandmother was admitted to The Carlyle on 2/18/25 for the flu. Upon admission, her medications were not verified or discussed with her OR a family member. Almost two weeks into her stay we noticed her left leg had become VERY swollen, red, warm to touch and had a VERY large blister. In addition to that her leg was weeping due to all of the edema she had in that leg. We notified the nursing staff and we were told she had not been given her water pill because the hospital discontinued it. They performed a doppler and she ended up getting a clot in that leg. I spoke with the Asst. Director and the ADON and they stated that they went by the hospital's medication list. (The hospital med list almost never matches a patient's daily medication list) had they questioned the water pill and questioned why it had been stopped so it could be restarted the clot most likely could've been avoided. Upon asking for my grandmother's clinicals I found MANY inconsistencies, missing information and plain INCORRECT information. Our family along with my grandmother had two meetings with the ADON and the Asst. Director and it was the same excuses both times. This was just a few of the issues we had, from the carelessness, disregard and plain mistreatment from some of the staff there. Staff being on their personal cell phone while attending to my grandmother, which is a HUGE HIPAA violation and just rude. They forgot to give her a dose of her insulin, she also has a huge wound on the leg that had the clot. Please do your research before placing your loved ones here. I will be contacting the Texas Medical Board, our local Ombudsman, Health and Human Services and Medicare and Cantex (Corporate)
The facility looks nice but the people are extremely rude the person at the front desk snapped at us for asking a question and my grandmother said that the food is disgusting. They run out of utensils to eat with.
Excellent care and Excellent facility. The care team provided the greatest compassionate care we have experienced in any other skilled nursing facility. My mother’s pain was well managed and the nurses and PCT’s were extremely patient while providing superb care. The dining staff and chef is superb and my mother never wanted me to bring her food because it was so good. The physical therapy team is phenomenal; Sheila has not only completely rehabilitated my mother but brought her physical ability to status she had years ago. We are forever grateful to this facility.
