this facility is clean. i see that they care about the patients they care for. i can also see that the nursing managers really try hard day in and day out to help provide quality care. administration team members are also active on the floor answering call lights and making sure the patients are happy. the place is on the older side but you can that they’re trying to renovate and make it better.

Unit 1 is ventilator unit, 2 is respiratory, 3 and 4 are regular nursing units. Pros: Front line staff like nurses and nurse aides are amazing, the RTs (respiratory therapists) are a bit lazy. Cons: An elevator card is needed to go upstairs and they do not give to agency staff, only facility employees. Management could be better of course. Overall I have good working experience there as agency.
2nd night, was told that there is only one nurse and 3 CNA’s for 44 residents on my floor. Which means the level of care goes down big time. I request to do a Lateral transfer to another facility. I know my needs will not be met if I stay here. The administration tries to meet the residents needs but they are extremely under staffed. So be mindful of this, ask the questions how many nurses and CNA per resident during the day and at night. No matter what one person can only cover so much. Majority of the staff is nice, but nice only goes so far when it comes to being a “Skilled Nursing Facility “. I as the resident has one objective, healing as fast as possible so I can go back and continue a normal life. Pros: kind staff, food not bad and facilities are clean, family welcome to visit pretty much 24/7Cons: old facility which shows in the rooms and overall building, poor ratio between residents and care givers. Be mindful, your love one will be alone most of the time. It’s like being kept in a 8x8 living area most of the time and no human contact which is a huge factor in their recovery. This means it’s your responsibility to help in the recovery process by being supportive and be there as much as possible to remind them that they are loved and needed. Week 3 here, the staff is very accommodating and tries to make up for what they are lacking in. But I can’t lie that my special medical needs cannot be met here. This facility is for more long term care. Special short term rehab and wound care is for another care facility. But overall, this facility has great workers and intentions.
My auntie has been at the care center of honolulu for a couple of months now and me and my family are very happy with the service, the place is very cozy. The treatment she is talking is great, and we feel very satisfied. Thankful for the nurses and for the young lady Kimberly, that was friendly and kind to us. We give the Care Center of Honolulu 5/5!
There’s no success rate of rehabilitation or discharge of patients leaving. My stay while I was there sucked, especially my experience with the social worker staff, only one of them was good Mike! I have nothing good to say. Sorry not sorry oh some of the staff like Mary, Mark, Rueben, and the rest of CNA’s they made my stay worthwhile. Even the food sucks! I’m still not walking, Hale Nani I heard is good!too bad I can’t go there.
