My wife and I moved her mother into Assisted Living at The Brennity approximately 18 months ago. As a retired firefighter, I have responded to hundreds of different facilities similar to this throughout my career. The staff at The Brennity are amazing. From the housekeeping folks to the Director, and everyone in-between. They are all friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about the residents. The food is great, the activities are wonderful and varied. We have zero complaints about this place, only high praise.

This place just gets worse and worse. The food at lunch and dinner is sad. The only nice meal is the Sunday brunch. Don't judge the other meals by that. There's never any ethnic food (Mexican, Chinese, Indian, etc.), and they don't seem to use any herbs to give the very bland vegetables any taste. They're supposed to clean the apartments weekly, but there always seems to be something wrong or staff shortages, so the "cleaning" is often very brief or non-existent. It's very hard to get a hold of anyone except the concierge who can't really help you. If I was choosing today, I would not move my parent here.
My husband and I moved into The Brennity at Melbourne in August of 2021 - my husband into the Memory Care Center, and I moved into an Independent Cottage right across the street from him. He has been receiving wonderful care, loves the food - 3 meals a day & snacks, care-givers & staff, new friends, and he joins into fun and relevant activities. He seems so happy and content, which makes me feel very thankful, and gives me a real sense of relief knowing he is safe, cared for, and is happy. I can visit him as often as I’d like, and can take him out when I wish, as well. My cottage is beautiful, complete with a garage, a laundry room, two baths, nice kitchen, large family room, and three bedrooms. My neighbors in the surrounding cottages, as well as residents in the Independent apartments, are friendly and active. I have two puppies, and I enjoy taking them to the spacious Pet park near me, where they can run freely, and also meet with other neighborhood dogs. The Dining Room in the main building is beautiful, and the food is quite good! Activities and entertainment are offered daily, by a very talented & imaginative Director. The staff is receptive to suggestions by the residents, and there is an active Resident Council and Community. I could go on, but suffice it to say, I am very happy here, and pleased that we moved into The Brennity at Melbourne.
I paid a surprise visit to my mother and I was very impressed with the staff. My mother needed assistance that I could not help with. The staff was prompt in helping her. I am happy with the decision we made to go to the Brennity.
Each time I have visited family at the Brennity, it has been a wonderful experience. The resident care staff is always attentive and I’m very happy with the activities that go on here.
