The Blake is a wholesome and caring community. Not only is the community beautiful but, so is the staff. They work tirelessly to ensure their residents are happy and at home. The courtyard is ethereal and a joy to walk through. Plus the staff is so creative with the events, parties, and activities they plan for their residents. It is truly a gem and the best facility offered here on the coast.

The Blake is a beautiful community! Friendly staff & wonderful residents. Would highly recommend.
There’s some great people there that go above and beyond and then there are those who just don’t know how to do their jobs or they don’t have the support needed. The apartment was hardly ever cleaned. My mom had a UTI that nobody there detected. I blame poor leadership. Two directors left during my mom’s stay. They were quick to find reasons to increase the price and levels of care but they were hardly doing the lower level care duties. Mom is back in her house now and doing much better with visiting care workers.
My mother has lived at The Blake for 2 years now. Wonderful place and staff. Always trying to please the residents. A lot of activities and outside trips. Building and apts are beautiful. The front desk lady Angel is so pleasant and helpful, a real asset for the facility.
*Update* *These other good reviews were obviously NOT from people that had experience there with memory care.* We moved our Dad from here. It was just a HORRIBLE experience here. They are not set up for Memory care and the employees are not trained to deal with dementia patients. Most of the employees just sit down in the cafeteria on their phones. Especially at night. The residents go all night without anyone checking on them. Some of the nurses obviously don't know how to deal with severe dementia patients when they say that, "we don't have to put up with this." Really? It's dementia patients...go back to school and learn! Unless your loved one is completely immobile AND YOU can go there every day to clean up your loved one and their room, DON'T DO IT. The turn over rate for their employees is very high. And that includes the office administration. I can't even count how many was there in the two years Dad was there. I'm not even going to go into the mess with the meds. They get them sometimes, and not at the right times. Some meds go missing. It's just been a really bad experience at this place. This place needs more employees. And the employees they have don't seem to do much with the patients. They just don't have it together here. If you're looking for memory care, don't go here. Months later- no better!
