I am delighted to share our family experience with the Atrium. The facility was our top prospect based on the positive experience of a close friend of Mom's and the feedback from her kids. We looked at another facility, but the neighborhood design of the Atrium was far more welcoming. Since Mom moved in the staff has been amazing, from the nurses to the aides to administration. I hand it to the staff for the enthusiasm with which they approach daily programming for the residents, enhanced with periodic outside entertainers / musicians. I highly recommend the Atrium based on our experience with my 95-year-old mother. Dementia is difficult in so many respects, but it's a relief to feel that Mom is safe and to see that she is happy.

The Atrium is in a great location, beautifully decorated and meets our family's expectations. The initial idea of moving a family member into a memory care community was difficult to work through. Between the sales dept, care staff and activities team we walked out of our initial tour with a clear expectation and relief. The experience has been positive and we now can spend time with our grandmother rather than caring for her.
The whole team at the Atrium is wonderful!!! They take good care of my Mother and are always willing to help and answer any questions. I appreciate all of the daily activities they have to offer. The Atruim is a very comforting setting to be in. I highly recommend this facility!
My husband has been at The Atrium for 8 months due to Alzheimer's dementia. The whole setup of the facility is ideal for people who have cognitive issues in that all the rooms open up to a common area; no long hallways to confuse the residents. The activities directors are so skilled in getting people to participate in so many fun activities and keep the residents as happy as possible. Food is excellent and the administration is so helpful in listening to any concerns I have had. I can't imagine a better place to meet assisted living with dementia needs!
Mom moved here to The Atrium a little over a year and 1/2 ago. We moved her here from Stonebrook Village in Windsor Locks. What my family and I would like for you to know is this. If you are looking for a loving, caring, and intelligent staff to look after your loved one, The Atrium at Cardinal Drive is where you want to be. Everyone here has treated our mom and our whole family with the utmost of dignity, love, and kindness. The staff continually throughout the day interact with all of the residents keeping them stimulated and entertained. This is truly our moms home. If she chooses to take a nap on the couch, so be it. If all of the residents are doing a craft and she would rather read the newspaper, no worries. She is free to be happy. Our mom is now at the final stage of her days with us. Beacon Hospice has made this process a peaceful one for us. We have been by moms side for the last 3 days and we can not tell you enough that EVERY staff member, from the Nurses, Aides, Chefs, Maintenance personnel, Cleaning staff and Receptionists have been amazing, loving, and kind. We will miss all of them very much but will carry them in our hearts.
