I have lived at this senior living community for 2 1/2 years. The Artisan Of Mount Pleasant was formally known as Atria. It was a major decision for me to move from a two floor home in Mount Pleasant, but I have never regretted it. We are now being managed by Senior Resource Group and I can already see positive changes that needed to be done. I was concerned about being so close to the Wando Port and the truck traffic but it turns out that hasn’t really been a problem at all and there’s hardly any traffic at all on the weekends. One of the best parts of living here are the activities that are planned for residents. If you were to participate in every daily activity that is offered, every day, you could be out of your apartment all day long. Haley and her staff do an exceptional job in listening to residents, what they might like to be doing, trips, luncheon outings, etc then figure out how to make them happen. A year ago, March, I suffered a stroke and knew that I had made a good decision by coming here because I needed assistance once I got home from the hospital. I was able to get both my occupational therapy and physical therapy right here in my apartment. As a longtime resident, Mount Pleasant I am fortunate enough to have many friends living all over town and elsewhere. I never expected that I would continue to make what I would call friends here, but I have.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Please please don’t be fooled by the façade of this place with their fancy decorations and facility. The quality of care is just like a jail. I truly believe this place is hell on earth. Our family has PTSD from the experience we had here. Instead of offering help they made our experience trying to transition our loved one here truly traumatic. I honestly believe they have no idea how hard seeing family members in need can be. Instead of trying to help they just treat the situation like another number and paycheck. If your loved one is in need of any type of help other than basic medical and social expect to get numerous phone calls from the staff saying they don’t think they can handle the situation. They forgot to give my loved one their medication on numerous occasions. There seemed to be theft going on and just so much other bad behavior with staff it is truly unbelievable. Just absolutely flooded by the lack of professionalism at this facility!
Our Mom lived at Atria Mount Pleasant for two years, prior to her passing. Her experience at Atria in Mount Pleasant was fantastic. Every person that she met, she would rave about the staff, the food, the cleanliness of the facility, and the great recreational trips they took. The arts and crafts were her favorite. Every day, Bingo was a must to play and interact with other residents!! The facility is impeccable. The staff is very responsive and very in tune with their residents and the families that care for them. Moving her into Atria, was daunting for me as her daughter, but the reality was it was the best decision for her and me. We moved Mom from Pittsburgh when my dad passed to Atria Mount pleasant. Mom loved it so much living there...I feel that her living at Atria Mount Pleasant gave her extra years to her long beautiful life of 94 years.
Atria is a beautiful, clean, cheerful, well run facility. All of the staff we met on our tour were friendly, warm and enthusiastic. A special shout out to Allison who took us on 2 tours, fully explained the workings of assisted living and price structure. She was knowledgeable, cheerful, and caring. She kept in touch during our search. We saw several facilities but knew that this would be our final choice from the start,
