A Transformative Experience at The Abigail Assisted Living After a distressing and unacceptable experience at Hudson Manor on Davis Island, where my mother suffered neglect and abuse, moving her to The Abigail has been a life-changing decision. At Hudson Manor, my mother was not only deprived of proper care—she was never bathed, fed poor-quality "prison-like" food, and subjected to overmedication that kept her chemically restrained and bedridden. It became clear that this was done to make her easier to manage, rather than to care for her properly. The final straw was when I witnessed a staff member striking her in the face. The staff lacked proper qualifications, with many seemingly hired without the necessary licenses or training. Since transferring to The Abigail, my mother has truly thrived. She now receives nutritious meals, is bathed regularly, and benefits from both speech and physical therapy. The staff at The Abigail go above and beyond, lovingly attending to her needs and even enjoying helping her look her best. Most importantly, my mother is no longer bedridden—she's engaged, active, and has a genuine smile on her face when I visit. The Abigail Assisted Living has truly set a new standard for her well-being, and I couldn't be more grateful for the compassionate, professional team that has brought joy back to her life. I've attached images to show the stark contrast between her condition at Hudson Manor on Davis Island and how wonderfully she is cared for at The Abigail in Hyde Park Tampa. Thank you Manuel and Karen. Their facility has high stands and treats your loved ones like it was their mother or father.

I can not say enough about the compassionate care the Abigail provided my terminally ill sister. The facility is immaculate and the food amazing. The owners and staff are caring, loving people who are very attentive to both patients and their families. Unfortunately, my sister has passed now, but I felt she received the best care Tampa had to offer. They staff has a wonderful working relationship with other community programs that are able to aid in the care of your loved one. I felt my sister was in a home with loving, caring family members, not a corporate facility. I highly recommend The Abigail for your loved one and for family support as well.
The Abigail house is amazing. I am so grateful for the care and love that the staff has given to my Mom over the last 8 months. The staff takes immaculate care of their residents, feeds them great meals, and provides them with a warm environment. On my very first visit, I entered the beautiful house and saw at least 10 sweet residents watching a movie together. The owner has always had great communication with me. Forever grateful, Deborah
My mother in law lived in Austin House the last four months of her life. The staff there is incredible and during the four months that she lived there, I was completely confident that she received the best care possible. All of the ladies are unbelievable caregivers and truly care about the residents. That is a very rare thing to find. If you are looking for a place that will take great care of your loved one, I highly recommend Austin House!!
By the grace of God we were led to Manny Rodriguez who is the owner of the Alexa, Austin and Abigail assisted living facilities. After being told repeatedly by other facilities that our dear elderly friend could not be cared for in their facility due to extenuating circumstances, Manny generously agreed to take in our sweet Daisy at the Alexa house. Later, she was transferred to the Abigail house to receive specific care that Christina abs the nurse practitioner helped arrange for her. Christina Marshall, the administrative assistant, went above and beyond in her love and care towards Daisy. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Christina! Our family saw first hand the care and respect given to the residents by her and the staff. I will forever be grateful to this wonderful group of people who gave a sweet old lady such tender care in her last 9 months.
