My mother Irene lived at Sunrise West Bloomfield for almost four years and as she would say " I have no complaints" which is a major compliment from my Jewish mother. I too found a wonderful community at Sunrise. The staff are thoughtful, helpful and caring. My mother passed on 7/14/23 and all the staff stood in honor of her as she left the building. During her last week at Sunrise many of the staff came up to support me and say goodbye to mom. It made me feel loved. Through out the four years I had no complaints either. I visited mom many times during the week and as her dementia increased every other day and then everyday. I would come in the dining room and see staff members encouraging and helping mom eat. Many times one of the staff would tell me about what my mom had done that day which helped me know how she was doing. Mom liked to be around people and would always be in the living room. The receptionists were so attentive to mom's needs and kept an eye on her. I think the best part of Sunrise is that there is very little turnover of staff which is such an important thing. I feel I knew pretty much all the day staff and they all knew my mom. The new chef is also terrific and the food is healthy and served as if your were in a restaurant. There is a menu of choices that the resident can choose from. Most important, is that this Sunrise is small and intimate and very cozy. Many of the new senior assisted living facilities are modern, cold and large. But remember that the seniors are not always into modern. They want to feel like they are at home, close to bathrooms, comfortable sofas and chairs. There are lots of pillows and afghans available for the seniors at all times that makes them feel good. I highly recommended Sunrise West Bloomfield and I will miss everyone that is there. Lesley Kutinsky

My Mom lived at Sunrise and LOVED it. The administration there was very friendly and helpful. The staff was really good with my Mom and treated her wonderfully. They were very friendly with me & my family also. And the food was GREAT. My Mom could choose her meals. They have very good soup every night before the main meal and always have dessert, too. They also have a great physical therapy department. The building is beautiful and nicely decorated. There are nice seating areas and a big TV for them to enjoy. This is a wonderful place for your loved one if you can't care for their needs yourself.
I visited my grandma this weekend. Such a beautiful place. She is so happy here and raves about the staff.
I just took a tour and absolutely fell in love with the staff, residents, and building. Whether you bring your loved one here for a short term stay or long term, they will be taken care of. Such a wonderful family environment at Sunrise West Bloomfield ❤️
This is the place we have my grandmother stay while we are out of town. She is extremely dependent on others for care. We have worked with chelsea for the past 3 years and she is extremely helpful. There is always a lot of activities for her to do during her stay. We have had a lot of positive experiences with them and highly recommend this place.
