My mother spent the last 10 years of her life at Sunrise. I always felt the staff had her best interests at heart. When the time came to move my mother into the reminiscence section, Michelle, the executive director, gave me the opportunity to move her into a room with a window view. At the end of my mother's life the staff were very caring and attentive. I always speak highly of this facility. It is not an easy decision to place a beloved family member into this setting. Everyone was wonderful in making the transition as easy as possible.
The facility is wonderful and I am happy with our decision in choosing Sunrise for my aunt and uncle's care. Communications with staff and their caregivers are a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 - not answering questions or responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
My parents and I attended Sunrise East Brunswick for one of their seasonal events — Octoberfest — visiting my Great Aunt! The staff did a terrific job with the theme, the music, the ambiance, the food, and the decor, making it such an enjoyable experience for residents and guests. The highlight of the experience was definitely the amazing staff. Their customer service was above and beyond. The people that work here are personable, enthusiastic, and compassionate, not to mention extremely energetic! We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much!
It is okay. I was told that I, sister + medical power of attorney, would receive monthly updates on my sister. A friend whose aunt is in an assisted living in West Virginia was called every month for 9 yrs now. She said I should be updated every month. However it didn 't happen. I went twice in person + was told @ November meeting that this is the practice. The only time I get called is if my sister falls or needs a level of care change. no monthly updates...
