Speaking with the staff, they are sincere and not trying to sell you something. What a great (different) experience this was. Also, the entire staff are employees not contractors, so you get to know them and they get to know you (on a personal level). The meals are prepared warm, there are a number of in house as well as external activities / trips scheduled on a daily / weekly basis. I did a lot of research before deciding on Sunrise and my mother, who I placed here, keeps telling what a great place I selected for her. Thank you to the entire team at Sunrise for taking such good care of my mom!

My father-in-law is currently a resident at Sunrise. The family atmosphere from an environment based experience to the wonderful caring professional staff, the residents' level of being well cared for is truly a blessing. ER along with all the other caring professionals are showing my father-in-law their loving care. We are blessed and grateful.
My mother lived at Sunrise of Buffalo Grove for almost 2 years. It was her final move and she was on the Reminisence (Memory) floor. Our family was very grateful to find such a beautiful and caring environment for our mother to be safe, comfortable, and well taken care of. Our expectations were exceeded as our mom declined. The staff really knows how to care for people with memory loss and all that goes with this. I felt like my mom was treated very respectfully and the staff really cares about their residents. It was a total team effort to communicate with us, Sunrise, and eventually Hospice Care on a regular basis. Our family visited a lot, so we saw how Sunrise became "home" for mom. We felt good about visiting, but most importantly, felt good when we were away to know that mom was getting great care. Mom was able to spend her last days at "home" in the comfort of her own room with the coordination of Sunrise and Hospice. She was comfortable and peaceful. I would recommend Sunrise of Buffalo Grove to anyone - the Assisted Living floor is great too. Lots of activities, lovely dining area, and the staff is just amazing! Our family got a lot of support from the Sunrise team and mom was content. Her favorite activity was the sing a longs that they would have frequently.
Mom could not have received more compassionate care in the memory care unit at Sunrise. A difficult chapter was easier because of the care, experience and professionalism of the kind hearted staff of Sunrise. I highly recommend this community.
The first time I entered sunrise in buffalo grove I felt it was warm, inviting, clean and the smell of apple pie and popcorn filled the air. I actually cried because I was so terrified that my mom would be sad to leave her home in Florida and here I stood in this bed and breakfast like setting! I loved it then and ever since for my mom I think we’re going on year three. She feels loved and well taken care of. She’s not a big eater but always tells me Sophie is a good cook! The staff are kind and caring and always pleasant. The nursing staff when needed are attentive, compassionate,and professional. The activities are fun and keep the place hopping thank you Sue! Lorena is a terrific director and knows her business! I tell everyone I know who is considering care for their parents to please visit Sunrise in Buffalo Grove. Not only is it wonderful in every way but it is a good value. Thank you Sunrise staff for keeping my mom safe and happy!!
