DO NOT send your loved one here—Sunrise at Silas Burke House is NOT a safe place for seniors who need care! If your loved one is completely independent, this facility might be fine. However, if they need any level of additional assistance, this is NOT the place for them. Sunrise is not equipped to handle residents with disabilities or changing care needs. Instead of providing proper support, their solution is to issue a 30-day notice to vacate and force residents out rather than adjusting their care plans. One of the most alarming aspects of our experience was that once they decided to terminate my loved one's residency, all communication from Executive Director Andres Ulloa and the care team at Sunrise completely stopped. Emails and calls went unanswered, and we had no idea whether she was even receiving the care she needed during her final 30 days there. When we moved her out, no staff members acknowledged us—they were all gathered in a meeting, and we could see them, but they made no effort to check in or say anything. It was clear that, in their eyes, she was no longer their responsibility. Another major red flag—nurses and staff are constantly being hired and replaced, which should have been the first indication that things were not great at Sunrise. A revolving door of caregivers means inconsistency in care and a lack of stability for residents who rely on familiar faces for their well-being. If the staff turnover is that high, it speaks volumes about the working conditions and management at this facility. Communication at this facility is nonexistent. Nurses and staff do not return phone calls, and there is no structured care plan in place. If a resident’s needs change even slightly, Sunrise will do nothing to help them and will simply kick them out instead of adjusting their care. I should have listened to previous reviews—this facility does not provide the care they claim. If you are looking for an assisted living community where seniors are actually cared for, DO NOT choose Sunrise at Silas Burke House. There are far better options that will treat your loved one with the dignity and respect they deserve.

My mother, age 90 with early stage of dementia, has been at Sunrise at Burke for 1-1/2 years. She is living as independent as possible and thriving with all the great care, meal choices and fun activities. My mother considers the staff and residents as her new extended family. My brother and I researched other assisted living facilities in the area and agreed that Sunrise at Burke was the right place for mom. The facility is beautifully designed, well maintained and we couldn’t be happier with the attention and great care that she is receiving. We are so fortunate that mom is happy, safe and able to enjoy her last chapter at Sunrise at Burke. And a special thanks to Andres, the executive director, for his great leadership and his personal attention to all the staff, residents and their families.
We were looking for a place for mom that had all of the amenities and memory care. We found Silas Burke House-the admission office staff were truly amazing, helping us through the entire process which at times, seemed overwhelming. They have made this transition for my 96 year old mom a pleasurable experience. They promised that this would work and we weren't so sure, but after 1 week there, from the updates we are getting, mom seem happy and comfortable there. I highly recommend this beautiful place!
Our mom has been a resident at the Sunrise Burke facility since April 2023. The staff, services, and accommodations have been fantastic. Mom is so very happy with the facility and with our family only residing about 5 minutes away, we are so happy to have the facility nearby. One of the new hires, LuLu has also been so kind and friendly. Thank you for all you do for our mother.
I needed to move my mother from independent living to assisted living. I toured several local facilities. I found Sunrise at Silas Burke House to be a great option for my mom. I worked with David Stever, Sales Manager. He was caring, thorough, and very professional. He answered all my questions, provided an exceptional tour, and suggested many ways to help my mom transition from independent to assisted living. He even proposed several special touches for her for move in day. Ultimately my family decided to place my mom close to another family member out of state, but I feel like this facility would be have been a great choice. My rating reflects my experience working with David and what I observed on my tour. The facility was bright, very clean, and the residents looked like they were having a great time playing Bingo. All the staff I met were extremely friendly. I am unable to rate Sunrise at Silas Burke House from the perspective of an actual family member of a resident.
