The staff at Sunrise at Mount Vernon are the most skilled and compassionate professionals our family has encountered while caring for my mother with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Following a hospitalization, the respite care, activities (bingo, and much more), and friendships my mother developed were crucial to her recovery. She is stronger now because of her month there. A special thank you to Sadia, Tanya, Star, Esther, and Valerie, and the incredible REM1 team. We look forward to return visits to see new friends and catch up with the staff!❤️😊

I’d like to start out by saying I have a lot of experiences with skilled nursing/rehab/assisted living facilities. Between my two parents I have dealt w 6 facilities, and as a home health care worker I have dealt with another three. I have encountered some horrendous places and circumstances at some of them. Finding a facility that is clean, has excellent staff and directors and has a comfortable environment is not an easy feat. I moved my mother in after a difficult few years. I initially got her to agree to it because they offer a trial period and I think initially my mom thought she would go to shut me up and get a bit stronger after a lengthy hospital and skilled nursing stay My mom is not easy to please and does not like much but surprisingly she liked it here. Saying she loves it is a stretch because I’m not sure she loves many things. I initially met w Sadia who is phenomenal at her job and made me feel at ease in just a few minutes. It was like meeting a friend. Really, all the “directors” are great. Shelley is wonderful and although I have not had a lot of interactions with Matt, he seems great too. All of the staff there seems to enjoy their job and are good to the residents. Nothing or no where is perfect and yes I have had a few complaints but nothing we can’t figure out. It really is very homey there and you really couldn’t find a better place for a parent or a loved one. My only wishes it didn’t cost so much but that’s not gonna happen lol The activities that they have there are fun. Valerie W who does the games and such is one of my absolute favorite people in there, always smiling and cheerful, and just makes you wanna smile and be in a good mood. I’m so happy and relieved I found this place for my mom and I’m still so shocked that she agreed to stay, that says so much about Sunrise Mount Vernon. Thank you all for putting up with my mom and being soooo great at your jobs
I highly recommend Sunrise at Mount Vernon. My Mom has been here for two years now, after moving her from another facility. Sunrise staff members and healthcare providers are friendly, professional, and caring, and they take a personal interest in each and every resident. Their enthusiasm for their work is infectious among the residents. There are all kinds of activities, events, entertainment, and outings that bring many of the residents together in which they really seem to enjoy themselves, and project a sense of comradery amongst each other. The meals and Sunday brunches are great, and the facility itself is always clean, well-decorated, and displays a very homelike feeling. Sunrise at Mount Vernon truly projects a positive community environment. Trying to find the right place for your loved one? I recommend asking for a tour from Sadia or Matthew.
My Mom and I recently toured the Sunrise at Mount Vernon, which is a lovely serene and well maintained property tucked away in a quiet community. Thank you so much, Sadia Ali for your warm welcome and wonderfully informative tour! We loved touring the resident apartments, and exploring the variety of warm and inviting common areas; as well as meeting the friendly staff and residents! it was also a special treat to meet your talented Chef and to be invited to enjoy the delicious lunch he prepared! I would love to see my Mom in warm and caring community like Sunrise at Mount Vernon. Thanks again for everything!❤️
Sunrise at Mount Vernon did an outstanding job caring for my mother during her final year of life. She lived there from December 21, 2022 through January 10, 2024. The staff was very responsive to my mother's needs, and the quality and variety of activities available to Sunrise residents is top notch. All the staff were professional, competent, service oriented, friendly, and a pleasure to interact with. After my mother died Sunrise staff were extremely supportive and helpful to me with taking care of all necessary business. I hope all the staff of Sunrise at Mount Vernon have the opportunity to read this review and receive my personal Thank You! for your wonderful, caring attention afforded to my mom, Margaret "Peggy" Chaison.
