My mother was in memory care for 7 years at Sunlit. The initial staff back then was great. Since then Sunlit has been purchased twice. My father is currently there in memory care. We are taking him out of Sunlit as fast as possible. Their billing department has submitted unreadable bills and the cost has gone up exponentially. Sunlit, with the new owners, has fired most of the staff over the past week. The service there has greatly declined. To only one care giver in a whole building, to my father bleeding on a new cut and not one individual working there is aware of it to the toilet and sink being disgusting and you text the manager pics of it and they are still the same 4 hours later. And 4 days later the base of the toilet is still disgusting. I truly feel sorry for the current residents and some of the staff that are great. A few are fantastic but Sunlit as a whole has greatly disappointed our family over the last few months. If looking into moving your loved one here I would greatly push you to reconsider.

Horrible situation in Sunlit Gardens LLC. About a month ago, Sunlit Gardens changed ownership. As part of that transition, 15 long-term employees, including myself, were let go without notice, explanation, or continuation of health benefits. Many of us had worked there between 5 and 15 years, fully dedicated to the residents and their care. Since then, I’ve learned that most of the experienced staff have been replaced by temporary workers from outside agencies. While I respect anyone who works in caregiving, I believe the lack of familiarity with residents’ needs has negatively impacted the quality of care. This job was never “just a job” for us — we treated the residents like family. When I returned recently to collect my personal belongings, I was heartbroken. The building was noticeably unclean. I was told that in the past month alone, several residents had fallen — one reportedly passed away after a head injury, another suffered a serious fracture, and others showed signs of physical trauma. In my six years at Sunlit Gardens, I had never witnessed such a decline in safety and care. I was tried to speak with the new manager Luis, to express my concerns. Our conversation was brief, and I was met with what I perceived as indifference. Shortly after, Luis instructed another staff member to escort me out of the building. I was deeply hurt by this response, especially after years of loyal service. This review reflects my personal experience and perspective. I strongly urge anyone considering this facility to be extremely cautious when choosing Sunlit Gardens as a long-term home for their loved ones. With concern and compassion, Tatiana Fomenko!
I really don’t know where to start but what I do know is that this facility is amazing. From the chef to the executive Director to the Care staff to the activities Director and the maintenance team and so forth!!! I can tell you that is that this is a “family”community that actually cares about your loved ones best interest!!! I had the pleasure of meeting with the director today some staff and family members and what I can tell you is this, Sun lit gardens is a very close nit community, everyone is happy here!!! I have visited and interacted with other facilities and wow what a difference . 100% positive energy here why because this company truly has a heart. It’s a true partnership between management, staff, residents and their families and that says a lot.
My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s ten years ago, and we as a family worked together to care for her up until recently when we started to struggle to give her the care she needed. After months of research my family and I chose Sunlit, she very quickly showed positive changes all around, it was heartbreaking for us, but sometimes our loved ones flourish more without us. I visit Sunlit often and quite enjoy the company of the staff and other residents, I feel welcome every day that I visit, and appreciate them from the bottom of my heart. There are many many reasons I like Sunlit, but I will start with the basics: My moms room is kept clean and tidy along with the whole building, the meals always look very tasty and they help her eat them, she is given many fluids during the day, a med tech is always on site for medications, they have changing routines to help residents stay clean and dry, and they communicate information with me. With the basics said onto the things that stand out to me: Makeover mornings! Arriving at Sunlit to see my mom with her hair done and makeup on is the most adorable thing in the world, and it makes her feel beautiful too. My mom spends her mornings in the garden or watching I love Lucy, after breakfast they do morning exercises and games, I really enjoy watching and participating in the morning exercises. My moms afternoons are calm and quiet, she watches tv, plays cards, paints a picture, looks at a magazine, color/draws, or naps depending on how she feels each day. My point is that there are many activities for her to join “IF” she wants to, it is her choice in the end. There are also fun special events each month for the residents entertainment, two therapy dogs do rounds to each building, they take field trips to the other buildings for music, games, happy hour and more, and I can’t forget to mention the scheduled outings that residents get to participate in. These special events have been bright spots for me, watching my mom smile, dance and laugh with her friends bringing me great joy. Hopefully this paints a picture of the past few months for my mom from a daughters eyes and helps you to decide to take a tour :) I never wanted to put my mom in a home, I wanted to be there for her in all ways, but sometimes family is not the best care that someone needs, Sunlit feels like home, not my home but hers
We finally found a home for Dad, and it wasn't easy. Sunlit has been a blessing to Dad and our family. When we first toured, we met Tirso, whose exceptional customer service and caring approach made us feel very comfortable. His honesty and transparency about the community, the services, and the straightforward pricing convinced us to choose Sunlit. During the first couple of weeks, Dad had some adjustments and settling-in issues. The staff called us to share their concerns but assured us they were there to support Dad and help him settle in successfully. Our father has been at Sunlit for a few months now. We are very pleased with the care Dad receives and the quality of his stay at Sunlit. He tells us he likes the staff, enjoys the food, and lives very comfortably. When we pick him up on weekends, he is happy, clean, and ready to go, and we appreciate the staff's flexibility in preparing him for our outings. The team at Sunlit is amazing, and we wanted to express our gratitude for their dedication. The upkeep of the community, the management, and all the team are greatly appreciated. It takes a village to run a community like this, and everyone on the team makes a difference. Thank you so much, Sunlit team.
