This is by far the worst nursing home I've ever been in. The very first week I was there, I had money stolen out of my wallet. The 'porch' is angled so if you don't have good brakes, you will roll out into the road. The aids are extremely overworked and usually taking care of multiple halls by themselves, which is dangerous. The nurses are even secluded in their own closed room so you have to wait for an aid to contact them. Their social worker needs to be fired! After specifically telling her that I was going home to my own apartment, she had me going to my Mom's 2 story house with no provisions for getting me up or down the steps to get me in or out of the house, or up to the second floor where the bedrooms are. This place is so impersonal that when I left, all they gave me were a couple trash bags to put all my belongings in. I've also noticed that the person replying to these reviews just copy and paste the same answers, just changing the name.

Overall place is pretty good except the Administrator Denise Willard ,Head Social Worker and Tashia I don’t understand why people work in these positions when their not a caring person. Dobo, Roslyn, Anthony and Gerald are wonderful people who truly care about the people who come to their facility. If your family has to go to one of these places I highly advise you to keep a close eye/ watch on them. Denise never came and spoke to my Godmother nor wanted to speak to me and in passing she even didn’t want to speak to me period even when my name is all over her paperwork. God please have mercy on them who mistreat those who are in this situation.
Facility was clean and room was clean. Husband was there for several weeks for rehab. Reported concerns to the Ombundsman and the State. The Director of SW (Ramesha) did not do her job, lacked communication, empathy, lacked and connectedness's with families. A follow up appointment was not scheduled for primary doctor (until I made it after his discharge). No referral was made for home health and no discharge meeting was held to ensure a smooth transition. Director of SW was quick to blame others and not take responsibility for her lack of competence. I reported, and Director of admissions and nursing listened however the issues were not resolved( the facility did everything they could to get my husband out as quickly as possible. The food was disgusting and always looked unidentifiable. Some of the nurses were very responsive and did a great. Do your research people and document.
I was at Summerstone for Rehab, July 2024. I could not believe how caring, professional, and understanding they were. And the rehab was great, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. The doctor told my family, that I would get 3 to 4 hours of therapy each day and I did. All I have to say about the facility is GOOD.
My 88 year-old father was placed at Summerstone Health and Rehab center in Kernersville following a near-death experience with acute renal failure and internal bleeding. The facility is clean and well-kept. Kudos to Teresa, in the Business Office, Kristi (front desk), and especially Keyon (transportation). The only problems I have encountered were communication from health professionals and appointment scheduling for Daddy. When he entered the rehab facility, Summerstone was charged with the responsibility to make follow-up appointments for my dad with a cardiologist and a urologist. Those appointments were not made until insurance notified us that it was time for Daddy to leave the rehab facility, and we asked why the appointments had not been scheduled. An appointment with a urologist was made for this past Thursday at 1:00 p.m. I joined Daddy at the rehab center around 11:30 a.m., not knowing what to expect. At 12:40 p.m., Kristi (front desk) came to see what was holding Daddy up! His wheelchair foot rests had not been added, and his full catheter bag needed to be emptied. By the time all this was taken care of, the hired van transport left! Rehab employees called the doctor's office, and were told the urologist would still see Daddy if he could arrive by 1:15 p.m. He can not yet get in and out of a vehicle, and there was no van service available. Keyon saved the day and drove my dad to his appointment in the Summerstone van. Daddy, Keyon and I returned to the facilty no later than 3:45 p.m., and I turned in the orders for Daddy to have an ultrasound taken of his kidneys the next day at 1:00 p.m. Long story short, Daddy's need for transport to the imaging center had not even been entered into the system!! I was asked if I could reschedule his appointment, to which I replied, "NO!" My job requires frequent travel and I carefully see that Daddy's appointments are scheduled on days I am in town and can go with him. Once again, sweet Keyon saved the day. Once again, he drove Daddy to his appointment in the rehab center's van. Daddy's doctor from the facility has not communicated at any point with us. I had to call and request he call us. So, this is a nice facililty with friendly folks. However, except for Teresa in the business office, you have to stay on top of scheduling and health reports should you choose to place your loved one in this facility! I'd also like to praise Teresa, who helped us navigate all business-related events, and Gerald, the nurse who took such good care of Daddy!
