I was interviewed for a weekend reception job. I spent about 30 minutes with the Community Relations person (Sarah) who took me on a tour and introduced me to a few people. One of whom was the Executive Director. While we were in the hallway, a person who l assume was the Recreation Director ( she said she had 3 different jobs in a year) was passing and we exchanged a quick conversation. I said she must me a "Jane of all trades" based on the fact that she had so many job changes. She laughed and said that she was their "bi? @h." In front of me, residents, the Executive Director and this person Sarah. management. (She had no idea who I was and I could have been a prospective family looking for a place for my parent) Near the end of the interview- Sarah looked at the possibilities for orientation and said she would schedule my orientation for the upcoming weekend. I said I would be flexible in case the Business Office needed time to work it out and didn’t want to do it on a weekend. (I even said I could come in on a Monday or a Friday) Then Sarah shook my hand and said she would call me the next day with the schedule for my orientation. I got a call, alright- saying they were moving forward with someone who had more flexibility during the week. (I work weekdays) Just the day before she said I had the job and would schedule my orientation. In the voicemail she left for me, she had the nerve to ask if I would be interested in coming in to teach yoga to the residents on the weekends. Bold move and very unprofessional. I would say this is typical for an assisted living- they over promise and under deliver. There is a lack of integrity here. It’s no wonder people don’t want to work in this industry.

I couldn't disagree more than the (1) star review left. My mom has been in Memory Care since September 2016 and we couldn't be happier with the care she's received. She is observed very carefully, we are notified of any changes in medications the psychiatrist recommends, she is relatively active and social, has wonderful meals that are well-balanced and healthy. I could go on and on all of Summer-hills very positive qualities. I highly recommend this facility. I know my mother is getting excellent care.
