I had the privilege of working as the Activities Director at Summerfield Retirement, and it was truly the most rewarding experience of my career. The community is filled with compassionate, dedicated staff who genuinely care for the residents' well-being. The warm and welcoming environment makes everyone feel at home, and you can sense the commitment to ensuring residents are not only well cared for but genuinely happy. From the thoughtfully planned activities to the incredible food (which I can personally attest to being delicious), every detail is carefully considered to enhance the quality of life. Summerfield Retirement is a wonderful place to be a part of, and I highly recommend it.

Do yourself a favor. Keep looking for somewhere else. On the surface the facility looks great and is well maintained. However, the owners could care less about your loved one. They do the bare minimum of what needs to be done. The staff ratio that was quoted at the beginning to us was not really what it was day in and day out. Which makes it so your loved one is the one quietly suffering when they need help. Then they are super shady about it. For example, a negative review was posted, but was taken down because they said it was spam. Which it wasn't. Doesn't that make you wonder why there are only 41 reviews over 8 years? Where are all the negative ones? Something doesn't add up. My loved ones lived there for multiple years and their conditions worsened while they were there. Lots of wounds because of the staff not being able to get to the resident in a timely matter. The owners come in often and say things that are not necessarily inappropriate, but very condescending. The turnover of the staff is huge. Likely because they are overworked, underpaid, and have to work for Dan and Rebecca (the owners). We are so happy we moved my loved ones. Seriously choose elsewhere. This is not a 5 star facility. It is a facility full of owners who want the money and staff that want to get better jobs. To be fair, once the staff came in, they were quite nice and pleasant to my parents. There just weren't enough of them because the owners needed to pad their pockets and only put the bare minimum on the schedule and then paid them less, thus making them search for other jobs, which shows by the turnover. Keep looking.
As a Senior Living Advisor I have assisted many clients in the search and safe placement in senior communities, and Summerfield is of the best! I’ve had many happy and satisfied families I’ve worked with choose and thrive in this wonderful independent and assisted living I will continue to recommend this outstanding community!
Our mother lived at Summerfield for two years before recently passing away. Everyone was so nice, helpful & caring there plus it is just the right size, very clean and they treat everyone with kindness & dignity! I highly recommend Summerfield!
Everyone is very friendly and professional, the facility is very well organized. Unfortunately It is very understaffed, they have one CNA for about 50 residents, the CNA is also the sever and has to do room trays. While everyone there was so nice I found it impossible to full fill the assignments.
