My mother moved into StoneyBrook recently and we both love it! The staff are warm and attentive, and mom's housekeeper is so friendly to both of us. We've always been treated with respect in the dining room....by the servers, the incredible Chef, and his friendly Sous Chef. There is a wide variety of food to choose from, and a person can eat as much or as little as they please. The maintenance man is friendly, knowledgeable, and completes projects quickly. One of the staff members, Paul Hemphill, is patient, kind, welcoming and warm....he took my mom under his wing from the beginning, and that made all the difference. The staff feels like family, and the activities keep mom busy and happy. As her adult child, I'm literally sleeping much better at night knowing she's safe, cared for, and surrounded by friends.
If I could I’d give them a 0. The staff is very disrespectful. The front desk lady named Stacy I believe is very rude and has an arrogant tone. There was an argument between her, me, and my father because she was being disrespectful and not letting me take my grandmas medication to her. Mind you that I do this all the time and the staff knows me. As my father and I were walking away she said “fat fuck” then when I called her on it proceeded to act like she didn’t. Now another experience I have seen while visiting my grandma is that they just unlock peoples doors and walk in they don’t even knock. Most of the staff there is young and does not care for privacy. My grandma has talked to them multiple times about it and they still do it.
Stonybrook Lodge hosted their annual Easter event that was open to the community. I brought my children and I was so impressed. The staff was so friendly. Residents were out participating and hosting games and activities. They served snacks and had treats and prizes for the kids. The facility looked very clean and well kept. Lots of natural light, an exercise space, common areas for mingling and dining, as well as desks, computers and shelves of books. The residents seemed pleased to be there and were all so kind to share their space with the community.
Appears classy but is a scam on housing old people whom are close to not being able to take care of themselves. Horrible management and corporate oversight.
