It’s been a week and so far I’m extremely pleased with the nurses and CNA’s on the Manor/memory care floor. The Angela’s have kept us informed of everything that is going on with our mom/mil. They answer every single one of our many questions. The aides are timely about getting her needs taken care of. Emily in admissions has been helpful with the transition and answering questions and getting us the right information needed. The lady I talked to in dietary was very helpful. Tina, the DON solved a problem we were experiencing with Bill in maintenance. For some reason he just didn’t want to get my mil a bigger bed and it was clear to both the family and the nurse on the floor that she needed one due to being a high fall risk. Fast forward four days and my mil fell out of bed on her left side, thankfully not injuring herself. On Monday morning it took multiple conversations with multiple people to get her in a better bed that fit her needs. Then comes Wednesday, after a Tuesday evening visit we asked the receptionist to ask if we could use a cart Wednesday evening to bring in a recliner. The receptionist wrote a request for maintenance to leave a cart by the front door on Wednesday evening for my mil room to move a chair. We arrived at 6:30 to move the chair in and there is no cart. The current receptionist says there is none available and we need to come back tomorrow. Yet again this problem seems to involve Bill. Let’s hope that these problems don’t continue. We did not return, we problem solved and mov d the recliner to her room. Maybe it’s worth mentioning that the homes tv wasn’t in working order when we arrived and we replaced a tv from home, the old one has been sitting in the corner of the room for 6 days on a memory care floor.
I never leave reviews, but this is needed. My grandmother was admitted just 2 days ago. She’s got blood all over her, blood on the walls, just laying there. Nurse cannot provide any information except for “that’s from her scratching”. Absolutely, NOT. They delivered lunch, just sat it there expecting her to eat it on her own, she just had a stroke, she’s not able to do anything. I fear this would only get worse, she will not be staying here past this weekend. If you truly love the people who are placed in here, you will not allow them here. The whole place needs to be shut down.
If you are looking for a place to put your loved one, please for the sake of them and you, look somewhere else. Upon arriving at the facility the staff had no idea we were arriving. There was zero communication from their non-existent social worker staff to any of the front line staff on duty. After finally getting told where to go, we got to the second floor and were hit with a pee, feces and death aroma. We, the ambulance staff transporting our mom and our mom nearly passed out when we hit the floor because the smell was so awful. It was like patients there had been sitting in their own bowel movements for hours. Over the course of the next several months things have gotten worse. We have zero communication with the doctors. The doctors hide behind the nurses who then have to relay everything to the family. The social workers on the case do not give us calls or emails back to our concerns and worries. Better communication would come from an infant just learning the English language. The nursing staff is overworked, underpaid and rude for the most part. You can ask four different nurses on the same floor the same question and you will get four different answers. There is not enough staff to go around. Floors are often manned by only two nurses that look after 20 something people on a floor. The smell of the place has not gotten better since we have been there. The doctors they have will change medication without consulting previous doctors or the doctor they send a patient to to get a second opinion. Since we have been there we have seen a doctor a total of one time over the course of four months. Since we have been at the facility we have asked to speak with the Psych doctor and we have yet to get a phone call or any response back from them. Again do you and your loved one a favor and stay away from this hell hole.
Its a clean facility. The staff is friendly. The nurses are compassionate and very helpful. I'm so glad this is the place my dad is.
