They talk a really good game, and we were very excited to have our family member there for PT. However, issues with staffing and patient care quickly became apparent. Plus, we could NEVER reach anyone on the telephone. We had to drive there one night to check on our family, and it's a good thing we did. She needed assistance and could not reach the nurses. It took us a while to find anyone ourselves. I would not recommend them, not until they work out their staffing and phone system and put measures in place to ensure the patients are taken care of when needed.

Let me start by saying I never post reviews, but I felt like I needed to in hopes of saving a patient and their family from going through what our family did. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone. They are very understaffed and not concerned about the patients at all. When our family member was there they only had 1 nurse per floor. The nurses attitude was horrible. Very smart mouthed and rude to our family member and to us. When the nurse call button was pushed it was a long wait before anyone would respond, if they did at all. Patients not being cleaned and having to sit in their own waste. Rooms are not cleaned. Medicine not given at correct times or at all. We found our family members medicine in the cabinet. We were outside at the time it was supposed to be given so they just put it in the cabinet and said they gave it to them. We also found a pill under the bed that wasn't one of our family members and the facility said it wasn't even one that they have in their system. No answers as to where it came from or how it got there. They have coolers of ice in the hallways for patients and staff. No telling how many germs are in there. After reading reviews it seems like all of the good reviews are coming from employees as the wording is almost the same. Please do your own research before allowing your family member to come here. I would recommend buying a security camera for their room so you can see the care that is given. If you do choose this facility, please be your family members advocate. Don't be afraid to ask the hard questions. Listen to your gut. I wish we had. We allowed them to blow smoke and say they were going to correct the issues and we lost our family member.
I am a RN case manager, I was bit by a bed bug in a patients home, the patient & her daughter claims to have gotten bed bugs from your facility. Her apt is infested now. She is eaten up with them. Comment? Resolution????? She lives in an apartment COMPLEX. Much love, Courtney Hall
Staffing shortages and/or no nurses to be found on the floor. If you ask the nurse a question the answer will be “I don’t know anything about that” (if you don’t know, then ask someone that does!) Patient rooms are very depressing.. dirty carpet that no one vacuums. Meals are cold when delivered to the residents. Issues with getting medication causing delay in patient care. Physical therapy staff is very nice and supportive. Nursing home ombudsman is the best guidance for help in reporting issues of care.
For $12,000/month I could have rented a room at Hotel Roanoke for my brother. There was very little help. If you ask for help they tell you it’s not their job. He would go hours with nobody checking on him. Meals are skipped and minimal at times. I moved him to another facility. No problems there.
