I started working here in Management in October of 2024. The first few months were quite rocky between the “care management team”. Some unnecessary drama that I somehow was sucked into. I am a very positive person and this place drained the life out of me. The food is phenomenal!! Our dietary managers are EXCELLENT cooks! Which is pretty hard to come by. They get 5 stars from me. Management believes you are just a body which is why I left after 6 months. You are replaceable. So many good staff leaving because upper management doesn’t care. They will pay their “travel staff” more $$ but not their current staff. It’s a shame. So many great staff members have been let go and treated poorly. Find somewhere else to work.

After searching for the last ten months for a place to call home for Mom, Springbrook is it! They have gone above and beyond to make my mother feel at home. Not an easy thing to do because my mom is in the early stages of Alzheimers. The Meadows in Springbrook is a FANTASTIC, top notch memory care facility, that I would say is the best around. And I've toured over 12 facilities. The management is superb, just talk to Tina and you will be impressed. My mom is on public assistance, and this place is NOT after your money like similar facilities here in Onalaska. They honestly care about people and they feel proud of their retirement community. They have an onsite activities/event coordinator that ensures your loved one will stay moving and stay alert. The food is excellent. Everything is clean. Can't say enough about this place. Oh yeah and you can bring your pets!
I am forever grateful for Spring Brook. My dad is in the memory care unit and he is getting fantastic care from the entire staff. They always call me with concerns and we have an open communication in place. I also have my mom there on the second floor. This gives me such peace of mind that both of my parents are being taken care of under one roof. I would highly recommend Spring Brook for your loved ones new home! Laura Tranberg
From the moment I walked into the front lobby it felt warm and inviting. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. Told me to help myself to the beverage area while I waited. Staff were smiling and made me feel welcome. Tenants were interacting and playing cards in a living room like atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
The people in charge at this place are terrible. They lied to our family when we were thinking of moving my parents in, said the future construction would be nowhere near their apartment——it was on the other side of their wall. They said they’d clean the apartment before my parents moved in. They didn’t. I ended up bringing my own carpet shampooer, and the water was filthy. There were wool moths in the apartment, and to this day we are still dealing with them. After my Father fell the third time, they said he could no longer be in the apartment and needed to go to assisted living, but there was no room for him in their own assisted living place (I think it was called Meadows.) So I moved mountains and luckily found another place for them both, and was assured by the blond woman in charge that everything was fine and they approved and we’d get their deposit back, of course! But guess what? We didn’t. They kept it. I was so appalled I went back to talk to this blond person, who overnight became someone entirely different, from kind and friendly to mean, defensive and unmovable. She pretended we never had the previous conversation; she said BOTH my parents didn’t need to move! my Mom didn’t fall so she should’ve stayed there! Nevermind that they were married more than 60 years. Nevermind that they wanted to stay together. Forget that Springbrook did not have a place for them to stay together, and forced my Father out. This happened 6 years ago, and I am just writing this now. I know, I should’ve written it then. But in my experience, these places, when owned by a corporate entity, do not get better; they just get worse and worse. Take my advice, and make long-range plans for yourself to stay together with family and/or friends when you get older. Pool your money and buy a huge house with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Help each other, and stay the hell away from these corporate pirates, whose only care is the bottom line. Together, let’s put them out of business.
