Assisted Living is nice but I do not recommend memory care. Perhaps things are better with new management but my mom almost died from severe dehydration while in MC. Her blood sugar was off the charts and she was extremely constipated. I would see the staff just sitting around while my mom needed to be changed and sometimes was wearing her clothing inside out and backwards. They tried to tell me her dehydration was due to them turning the heat on. Give me a break. She was at the hospital and then rehab for almost a month before they called me to discuss my concerns expressed via emails. Terrible.

Our cousin Joan moved to Spring Valley in October. We have visited often and are very impressed with the kindness, care, and professionalism of the staff and caregivers. The facility is well built and maintained, located in a beautiful setting. Joan says the food is excellent. Highly recommended.
Mom moved to SV Stratford in Oct 2019. Mom has made friends, attends activities and Sunday Mass on site, and the staff have become our extended family. The staff is caring, compassionate and respectful. The meals are really delicious (we have had some meals with Mom) and themed at holidays! There is a private dining room that you can sign up for if you want to have a family get together. We used it for Mom's 95th Surprise Party for family. The Living Room is so comfortable and cozy, especially with the fireplace in winter months. The library has books you can read and return! Our family is blessed that our Mom is so well cared for, and thriving at SV.
My family and I were in an "emergency" situation and needed to find a place that could take my father-in-law for a respite on very short notice. Katherine and the team at Spring Village were WONDERFUL. So kind and understanding through the whole process - their response time was wonderful, their communication awesome. They helped us through a very difficult time in our lives and we are forever grateful.
The staff at Spring Village Stratford go above and beyond - they sincerely care about their residents and treat them like family. We were moving dad from California to Connecticut to be closer to us so we interviewed 9 facilities. Spring Village Stratford was alone at the top. Once we met the Spring Village staff and spoke with residents - the decision was easy. The Director of Community Relations was fantastic. She made sure that dad was welcomed and felt at home. If you are looking for a facility that provides top-notch service and sincerely cares about your loved one - consider Spring Village at Stratford.
