Spring Hills Lake Mary took amazing care of my mom. It is the perfect facility for someone looking for a “home-like” feel with great dining and plenty of activities. We looked at other places that seemed “fancier” but they were enormous and I knew they would swallow my mom up whole. This facility is excellent in cleanliness, staff care (from sales director to nurse, to nurses aides, to chef, and beyond). Literally every single person that worked there that I came into contact with showed genuine concern and compassion and care for my mother. I whole heartedly recommend them as a facility for your loved one that needs extra care in life. I can’t thank them enough for the care they provided my mother. ❤️
My dad hasn't even moved in yet and I couldn't be more pleased. After what seemed to be an endless search for a place for dad, I found Catherine. Catherine was an angel who answered my prayers. She went above and beyond to help my family. We were in an enormous time crunch to get dad moved into memory care. I toured multiple facilities, and very few were willing to work with all of my father's needs. Most facilities were just sad. They looked dreary and they smelled bad. Not many places were nearly as clean as Spring Hill. And, although I have spoken with several other great representatives at other facilities, no one came close to the care I received by Catherine!! I met her after an exhausting week. I was at my wits end. Basically I was a train wreck. She treated me with an enormous amount of empathy and kindness. More so, she knew the ins and outs of every aspect of memory care. She went above and beyond to get my dad admitted. She stayed late on a Friday night to get the ball rolling. She convinced her administrator to go to the hospital on his day off to assess my dad. Then she stayed late to finalize all the paperwork. Most people would have just pushed it off until Monday. Most companies try to educate and train staff. What Catherine is can't be taught!! I think she is naturally a generous soul and a complete bad a$$ in her field! The world would be so much better if everyone could rise to her level!
As a music service provider for Spring Hills, I feel compelled to share my experience to inform other potential vendors. Positives: - Wonderful residents in both Memory Care and Assisted Living - Excellent on-site Activities Director - Pleasant interactions with local staff Negatives: Severe payment delays from corporate office Invoices went unpaid for 7 months Poor communication from finance department Refusal to pay late fees incurred due to their delay While I enjoyed working with the residents and on-site staff, the corporate office's handling of vendor payments was deeply disappointing. After 7 months of non-payment, the finance director claimed to have "found" my invoices on her desk. Despite the lengthy delay, they refused to honor the late fees. Advice to potential vendors: If you're considering providing services to Spring Hills, be prepared for potential payment delays. You may need to be persistently follow up on unpaid invoices. While the local staff and residents are great to work with, the corporate payment process can be frustrating and time-consuming. It's disheartening that while they likely charge their own late fees promptly, they don't extend the same courtesy to their vendors who have their own business expenses to manage. While the on-site experience can be rewarding, vendors should approach with caution and be prepared for potential financial difficulties when dealing with this corporate office.
Overall our experience since Dad has been there has been very good. The Executive Director Gene has been great! He's always walking around greeting the residents and families by name, checking in on them to see how they are doing and helps out whenever needed. The nursing staff for the most part is very caring, personable and compassionate, especially Danielle & Luz! Not a fan of the new Director of Resident Care -- Natacha. She is not friendly to the residents or the family members and she's not hands on with the residents like some of the previous Directors. Other staff members including front desk, maintenance and kitchen are all so friendly and make the community feel like home for the residents. The food is very good with a variety of healthy options for the residents to select from. Would recommend Spring Hills for you or your family members.
