I want to share my Southern Pines Gracious Retirement living expierience. I rate this as an absolute 5 star!! We had been looking for an independent facility for my parents for a while and right from the first visit there it was incredible! We first met with Timothy Almond and he was dedicated and very caring about what we were looking for, he went above and beyond the call of duty! Each and every staff member from the manager Chris , Melissa and also Steve and Penny Kane right down to the maintenance worker truly care about the residents and their families! They have good food and lots of activities thanks to Ms. Jeanette, she surely keeps the residents busy, no time to be bored! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a beautiful, clean and organized environment for your elderly loved ones! It truly holds the highest expectations that we were hoping for!!

My mom has lived in Gracious Living for almost 2 years now and we have all been very happy with this retirement home. The staff is really kind, generous with their time, and helpful whenever we need assistance. The place is always kept extremely clean and is tastefully decorated. There are plenty of activities and get togethers So there is no chance to be bored! The rates are average and even better than many places which are not as good. Although my mom has to leave for health reasons she is sorry to go and has made many friends here. Our family would recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe environment for their Parents or for themselves.
we live in one of the Cottages and if I was in the main building, this review would be much different. The Cottages are wonderful and very large and nice. There is a core group of service r that do a grate job but they are always short of services. They hire new people and they are gone in a week or two. As a result meals take between 1.5 or 2 hours+. If u eat all 3 meals there u might as well not leave because you will spend the better part of the day in the dining room. if you are eating at the opposite end from the start end, 2 thing will happen, first there is a good chance you will run out of the alternative and the first served will be done before the end even gets there food. while we are on the subject of food, it needs a lot of help. I am a trained Chief and my be more critical then some. We eat about 1/3 of the meals in the dining room because of the food. We have been here for about 4 months, so have tried most of the meals. Breakfast is a joke, if it was a restaurant it would go out of business in a week. When you have some type of muffin for breakfast, what is a diabetic supposed to eat. Yes you can get eggs but just eggs on a plate, no meat, no potato is not much of a breakfast. Ther are a couple of good supper meals. Many of the meals are over cook and dry as can be. i understabd that cooking chicken and port tend to dryout if you are not careful and many are very dry. The soups are very good and the rolls and deserts tend to be very good. The sandwiches for dinner have so little meat orfilling you can hardly tell what is in the middle of the of the bread. It is nice that you have a choice we a choice of 2 types of salad each night.very nice. Some of the combinations are odd. A vegetable with pasta dish like spaghetti, beef noodles dishes a little difference. Ther was a couple that moved in last month and left this month and because of the food. one of the wives in one of the corsages never comes to dinner because does no like the food. This is supposed to be a independent living retirement community. There are several people that should not be here but are allowed to fill vacantences. And last but not least, how do you get away with one elevator? What happen during a fire? There are many many who can not do stairs and if you get them down, they don't have their walkers or carts. I guess your sorry you sent this to me. Lyle Hagedorn'
My dad lives in CA now. But he was a resident from 2013-2014. He made a lot of friends and enjoyed assisting people that needed help getting around... dad also kept the library organized. I always liked staying the night in your family/guest room.
Tim has been so professional and kind. Highly recommend Southern Pines Gracious Retirement Living!
