Wonderful skilled nursing facility in the heart of South Pasadena! The staff are incredible, facility is very clean, and activities and social services are wonderful. Food is good too. I highly recommend considering South Pasadena Care Center if you or your loved one needs post hospital care (rehab, etc)

I am so disappointed in this facility. My mom was supposed to be there for a week or so. But I scheduled to pick her up on Tuesday August 15, 2023. I waited ALL day for the call from them telling me she was ready for pickup, but lo and behold. They called me on the PHONE and told me that my mother passed away . If I had known this facility was bogus, I wouldn't have NEVER placed my mom there! Now I am planning to say goodbye to her and dealing with great guilt for placing her in their care! Please if you love your love one's, NEVER, EVER place them in this facility. P.S. Now they want me to do a survey. The GALL of THEM!!
Very good care, clean and professional environment. Sela the liaison was such big help, very supportive through the process of accommodating my patients and their families. Caring nurses, knowledgeable, professional and attentive. The charge nurses are always helpful and responsive to all my questions specially Karla RN, and the administrator Julie, has been very accommodating going above and beyond to provide the needed care and facilities necessary for my patients. The best nursing home experience I’ve had so far, I trust this facility with the care of my hospice patients.
Staff have allowed an indirect family member to exert power of attorney over my grandmother after having my grandmother sign for herself during her admission. Are now not allowing us to call or even visit our grandmother while she is there. Allowed a non family member to visit and coerce my grandmother into signing a new power of attorney while under their care. They haven't followed protocol while dealing with my grandmothers direct family, and allowed a third party agent access to information he had no authority to access.
My Father was admitted for rehab after a hip replacement in the hospital. I was asked by Iris to bring by clothes and anything he may want for his stay. I took by 4 changes of clothes, his iphone so we could communicate during COVID, his charger, and a few prescriptions from the dentist. My Dad was only there for 3-4 days before he had to go back to the hospital. I went back to pick up his things that were not transferred with him to the hospital and come to find they cannot find any of it or any record that I ever dropped it off. Its been 2 weeks and we just get the run around... they would look at security camera footage to see who took it from me when I dropped it off, but then they waited too long to view the footage and it got erased. Then the head social worker says she needs "more time", but never follows up with us. Its really frustrating that they have no idea what happened to his stuff and no records. If I had actually been allowed in the facility I would have made sure the items were personally put in his room.
