I’ve been at resident at South Franklin Circle for over seven years. During that time, my appreciation for the Staff and attendants has increased substantially. Each person with the most menial duties to the top of the Administration has always been friendly, attentive, and accommodating. During that period the resident population has increased dramatically and yet staff almost always knows each person by name. Despite the Covid-19 environment, the food service has maintained a high level of quality, turning on their heels from restaurant dining to a timely delivery service to each residence. Special arrangements have been made to allow exercise and swimming programs to continue while maintaining social distancing. The Campus is well maintained and neat. Living quarters are spacious!

The is no physician on the premises. The nurses office is staffed only three hours every morning, only on weekdays. Elderly residents, who are in independent living apartments, who may or may not drive, who need a physician’s care, are completely on their own to seek a physician’s care off campus.
Really really check into this place before you let someone you care about enter this place .yes it is a beautiful facility but the level of care is not there. Had a loved one here while still in private quarters care givers came in to watch her husband while she went shopping and they stole her jewelry .Later is was in the Crane center that is when it really got bad monthly bills ranged from 17 K to 22 K per month He would push the button for help to relieve himself in several occasions he soiled himself . Please do your research. This place charges like the Ritz or Four Seasons. But the service is that of a Motel 8.
I moved into SFC during the early spring of 2015 after my wife entered Arden Courts a memory based care facility near by; so I could be close to her each day as her care giver. We’d lived in the Chagrin Falls area since 2001 beginning at Auburn Lakes , then a single home on 5 acres in Russell Township from summer 2008 until selling the home prior to moving to SFC... The concept of moving to a facility like SFC made great sense for me now in most aspects as a single person needing only an extra space for family when they’d visit me during the year. For me a cottage single living made the most sense, which has proven so right for me with my own health issues that arose during this time span. I don’t walk as well any more, but continue to drive - which give me a great sense of freedom. I’ve arranged the cottage to fit my needs. Master bedroom & bath serves as a guest room and doubles as my studio or maybe the other way around. High ceiling with large windows make for a great space to work and hang paintings of my own and others we collected throughout our 60 years together. I’ve was able to personalize both the interior and exterior of the space provided to me as I play out this next phase of my life. SFC for me was & still is a welcoming community in its’ best sense. Turns out I knew many people , some hadn’t seen in years. Having lived in the Shaker Hts. area since moving here from Minnesota in 1962 made this transition possible. Another plus for me; being as social or not was OK. I could stay home for a day or so or longer especially after my wife Nikki passed away on Oct.the 5th 2017. Other residents were very understanding since many of them had gone through the same journey. As an artist, this ability came to my rescue, allowing me to work any time day or night. This extended to assisting the SFC staff in my own showing of 80 pieces on the main gallery space in the Community Center. Then having my great friend Dean Sledak have his work shown. Two other members have and will be exhibited soon. The Maintenance Staff at SFC is truly unique . Ken, Greg and Justin continue to amaze me and have been so helpful including taking down then putting back up my art work for various exhibits I do in and around Chagrin Falls. We’ve become a team. I’am sure other members in the community feel the same way. I especially like eating at the Community Table once a week or more often sometimes. Ashly does a great job with all her guests during this hours gathering for good food and conversation. Meeting new people who have recently made SFC their new home. This experience if positive can mean so much to new or older members It can also in some cases serve as a spring board for both new or older members who maybe going through a rough patch in their own lives. The newly redesigned Bistrow adds new zest while having lunch inside or out. Well worth the effort. The Radius Restaurant does a great job allowing residents to entertain family & friends as well as joining other residents for a meal & conversation. Truly a engaging experience! It’s been a delight to see all the Amish women clearing the land in and around the community this spring. Such a hard working and friendly group. I do hope they will be able to continue serving SFC in the coming months and beyond. South Franklin Circle truly was and still is the best move for me as my journey continues to unfold. I welcome each day with realistic expectations !
The place is gorgeous and members are put first it seems most of the time. They even have a restaurant for members to dine in and a bar! I used to work at the restaurant called radius and sometimes in the bistro. As a waitress. At first it was great money and the hardest part was remembering the members names and preferences. But, there are many cons to working there and for me they eventually outweighed the pros. The schedule you are given isn't really up for debate. There are so few servers that they absolutely need you and no one can cover when you are sick really. Which sucks for the rest of the servers left there because then things get hectic. Also, you pretty much can expect to be forced to work Sunday mornings, Christmas, Easter and thanksgiving. Even if I absolutely had to call off they really didn't take no for an answer. My biggest problem is corporate. They have no idea how a restaurant runs and how many employees you need or how to pay them. Many times my check was messed up and they ended up blaming it on us saying we didn't keep track of our tips right so we owed them money. I was forced to give them $900 at one point. They also ended up taking away tips because we were making too much money. So now it's hourly. My thought process was, if they expect me to work holidays (which are the busiest ever. So hectic.) I'd like to be tipped. I got very unmotivated because I used to make so much money on holidays and now that they pay hourly i was doing 20 times more work for the same pay. I also noticed my pay check never seemed to add up to the hourly they said they were paying me. I swear it was minimum wage. They ended up messing up my check 3 times and I said I would quit after the 3rd time. And that's what I did. Besides that the food there is great lol
