I had such a great tour here—honestly, I was blown away by how nice the memory care facility is. Everything looked so clean and cozy, just a really good vibe. The director, Anntawn, was awesome. She made me feel right at home and talked about how much they focus on quality of life, which really hit home for me. After meeting her, I genuinely felt like I could trust this place with my dad and know he’d be well taken care of. Couldn’t ask for more—definitely recommend checking it out!

Independent living is very nice and my parents enjoy living there. The idea of a "continuing care community" though, as we were led to believe South Bay was, is that there are all levels of care, including rehab and nursing. When my mom needed rehab, she got terrible care there and we had to move her. That meant my dad had to travel across town to visit her. Now they've closed the nursing/rehab unit altogether.
Worst place ever ! The nurses never check on their patients and are so rude to family members. The nursing supervisor won’t do anything about it .I’ve seen way to much go on there .
My husband and I recently moved into Independent Living at South Bay. Our experience has been totally positive in every aspect of life here -- social activities, physical exercise programs, dining facilities/menus, etc. The staff at all levels is an impressive caring responsive team. It appears to us that issues raised in nonpositive comments in some older reviews have been successfully resolved by current management. We are very pleased with our decision to live at South Bay and highly recommend it.
I am a Senior Move Manager in Charleston. I have moved many clients into South Bay. It' such a wonderful place for independent living. There are many options of living spaces. The staff is caring and wonderful to work with. They plan so many events for the residents. My clients actually can't wait to start their new chapter at South Bay. I would highly recommend South Bay to anyone that is interested. The Best!!
