After touring numerous memory care facilities for my 86 year-old mom I opted for Sonata Senior Living at Coconut Creek, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The staff at the memory care facility, headed up by director Hillary Newell, are compassionate and loving, treating residents as if they were family members. The facility itself is spotlessly clean, sunny, and infused with warmth, light, music, art and laughter. The experience of placing my mother in the facility was made seamless, thanks to the efforts of Robin Hammer and Cora, the nursing director, who evaluated mom at home to ensure she would be a good fit. The pricing for the type of care my mom is receiving is comparable to other memory care facilities in the South Florida area. Rooms can be decorated to one's taste, as furnishings are provided by the family. My mother is happy here, and engaged with the staff and other residents. She is well cared for by their team of visiting doctors and specialists, and is thrilled with the menu selection and activities. And I love it that my mom, as well as the staff, are ALWAYS available to address any questions or concerns. Anyone looking to place a loved one in an assisted living facility would do well to check out Sonata Senior Living at Coconut Creek. I sleep better at night, knowing my mom is in tbe best hands possible.
I moved my mom here in the middle of COVID sight unseen! That’s how secure and safe I felt about this facility! Hilary is the director of the memory care unit. Her care, passion, and dedication to the residents is amazing! When I come to visit, I feel like family. My mom is so well cared for that for the first time in a long time, I have a peace of mind! I would highly recommend SONATA’ to anyone looking for a safe place for their loved one !
My family is very happy with the care provided at Sonata Coconut Creek. My Mom feels like she is part of a family and all of her needs are met on a daily basis. The constant communication that the Sonata Team and particularly, Hillary Newell, the Memory Care Director, is outstanding! There is never a time that we cannot reach someone with a question or concern. We know we have found the right place for Mom and us.
*The only place I trust for my dear mom* After learning of my mother’s Alzheimer’s disease over 5 years ago, our family knew the unfortunate day would come when she would require more care than what we could provide for her at home. Initially, we made the tough decision to transition her into a home off McNab road. Our first choice was Sonata Coconut Creek, but they did not have availability at the time. The experience was rough and it was not the right fit at the first home. Sonata finally had an opening and we have been thrilled with their service ever since switching homes. The staff and head director are genuinely kind hearted people and take special care of all of their residents. They treat them with respect and dignity and keep them happy. They make the utmost effort to keep the residents active and entertained with live music, dancing, movies and other activities. Throughout the home are different stations set up to aid them to engage in activity as well. (Such as caring for a doll baby, or listening to 50’s music, or wood working on a desk). The staff is skilled in addressing the residents hygiene needs and the food their served is excellent. The doctors and nurses are always on point with their medications and provide them with the best possible care. I can’t say enough great things about Sonata. I know my mom is being cared for by people that consider her family now and it makes me able to sleep peacefully at night. Also, the home is always clean and very safe. If you are considering Sonata Coconut Creek, just know your loved one will be in the best hands and receiving the best possible care in fun and family oriented environment and I highly recommend!!
