Speaking as a granddaughter, it seems like my grandma's children are able to communicate well with the doctor here, and make sure she is getting what she needs. Family visits are so important to the health of those staying here, and even during the pandemic SoCal did what they could to adapt and make sure they could still get loved ones together, even through glass when that was the requirement. I can't speak to the cleanliness of the whole facility, but the main entry area makes a good impression, and I'm glad they have the patio available for visits. The lattice at the top of the patio needs a little repair, but they seem to do a good job maintaining the plants in there, so I'm guessing the minor lattice repair is on somebody's to-do list already. The patio bricks indicate that this was made in 1924. My grandma is here now, and her mom was here about three decades ago. Hopefully they'll continue to do good work here caring for people for another 100 years.

If I could give this place a 10 star rating I would! There staff are very nice and attentive. My mother felt at home. They are very quick to attend there patents. Even though this building is an older one. Butt that doesn't matter. My mother was at the east Berkley facility in Santa Monica. Service there was horrible!!!! My mother told me if anything ever happens to her again. To bring her back to so cal acute.
I was very skeptical about leaving my mom with anybody but these folks do a great job they really care for their patients. Everything is being cleaned every day. The facility is a little old so when you first come in, you might get a different impression but after being there a month, it’s an excellent place
Shane and his team do an amazing job. I am very satisfied with the quality of care the residents receive. They have an open door policy and are available to talk when needed.
Down three stars for lack of careful attention to patients. My husband came home with a badly infected surgical incision which put him back in brain surgery and intensive care just four days after he came home. And then he died from the infection. Down another star for the noise. Most rooms are shared and the televisions don’t have bed speakers, so my husband was all but unable to sleep because his several roommates kept the tv on and loud through the night. You can hear the blaring noise from many rooms all the time. It’s a challenge. The staff is lovely and the physical therapy is excellent, but that doesn’t obviate the need for medical attention and nursing care.
