Please understand this that I'm not one to pull the "RACE," Card, but I truly believe that I was discriminated against during the phone call. Yes the majority of the time you can tell a persons race by their voice. When I called I said politely "Can I ask you if you accept Section 8/Housing Choice Vouchers?" She said "Yes, but you have to have good credit and income qualifications." I said my credit is not good neither is my income (the main reason people apply for Housing) and can I use a co-signer?" She replied, "Yes but they have to make SEVEN TIMES the rent." WOW is she serious!!! I've NEVER heard of anyone having to make SEVEN TIMES the amount of the cost of the monthly rent, 3 times the rent but SEVEN!!! Although I'm more than sure my co-signer does because he's my son and makes very very good money he's the vice president at his job but I think she was just flat out a lying to me as if I were stupid. Then she proceeded to tell me there's a ONE YEAR to TWO YEAR WAITING LIST!!! And the way she said things gave off a very unpleasant vibe. It's not what you say it's how you say it. It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice. The apts are nice but they're not all that. Yes I know Housing Candidates/Tenants have a stigma and its true for a lot of times in the past but lately in the past 5 years Housing has put their foot down on how tenants keep their living conditions. I was at the Housing Authority a few weeks ago and it was very professional, from the staff to the people applying for Housing, I did observe everyone was nice neat polite well-mannered and well groomed even their kids (the ones that had kids) and I said to myself, "Wow things have really changed for the better!!!" And it showed because you had Landlords and owners of properties there giving out their cards and brochures wanting to rent to those applying for and on Housing. I also informed the leasing agent at Snowden Creek that I'm a VERY CLEAN tenant and you could eat off the floors of my unit that I've been in for 5 years. I also informed her that I live in the city in Gibbons Apts and we're a very close knit community and we keep our property very neat and clean, especially since the other tenants see that I walk the property with my pick up trash stick and pick up trash and the only reason I wanted to move was to be closer to my son. Again as I stated the only reason I want to move from where I'm at now is to be closer to my son and the photos that I have attached is where I live now in Gibbons apartments in the city it's not just for seniors but they're also families and we're close-knit we keep the property very nice neat and clean even our trash rooms. Our property at Gibbons apartments has just as many amenities as Snowden Creek. I've been there 5 years and these are photos that I took today as I wrote this post. Finally from the phone conversation with the Leasing Agent and the negative vibe I was given over the phone I would not want to live at Snowden Creek Sr Living Apts. neither would I recommend them. Again they're nice but they're not all that.

My husband and I moved in 8 months ago and love living here. Amy and Norma, the front office staff, could not be kinder or more helpful. They truly care about the residents here. Charles and his maintenance staff do a fantastic job keeping this beautiful community looking perfect. If there is a maintenance issue, Charles takes care of it right away - and with a smile on his face while he is doing it! The landscaping is meticulously taken care of which makes walks around the community so pleasant. The apartments are truly wonderful and the in-unit washer and dryers are fantastic! The residents at Snowden Creek create a community feel and plan many activities to participate in. Everyone feels welcome - and they look out for each other. Very grateful to be living in such a wonderful place.
I have lived at Snowden Creek for exactly 2 years. As a senior living residence the apartments are great. The parking lot needs signage to indicate the spaces are reserved for residents. There is no indication that parking is reserved. The main bedroom has ceiling fans and carpet while the rest of the space has LVT flooring, that is easy to clean. Snowden Creek is 1 only 2 places in all of Carroll County with washer/dryer units in each apartment. According to 2020 US census, median income in Carroll County is $99,500 and 37% of the residents have a bachelors degree. In Howard County the median income is $124,000 and 63% of residents have bachelors degrees. I mentioned this because the rent at Snowden Creek is a bit pricey for the location. My overall assessment of Snowden Creek is that it is a wonderful place to live. The building is relatively safe, the individual units are very nice. I moved all the way from Montgomery County Maryland, to live here. I don’t regret it and I am glad I made the decision.
I've been a resident at Snowden Creek since 2020 when the apartments first opened. I love living here, I've made numerous new friends and certainly laugh a lot. We can always find something fun to do from using the gym to playing cards or going to the South Carroll senior center. Numerous restaurants near by and believe me if you want to participate there is always something to do!! The staff are always available and eager to help Amy and Norma can answer your questions and are like family. The place is clean and safe thanks to Charles. The mail room is inside so no worries about going out in bad weather and I love the valet trash. Having an elevator makes it possible for me to pick what floor I want to live on. So if you are looking for an up beat place where people care about each other Snowden Creek is your new home.
I have lived for 2 years since my wife died. The management and support were nothing short of caring and sympathetic. Great place to live. The facility is spotless. I feel very safe here and hope to be here a long time. I like the women here seeing I’m a widower. Come join us, you won’t regret getting a laugh everyday. Beautiful grounds. Come here and live with us only if you bring a smiley face 😊
