Today I dropped my mother off to Snowhill Rehab Center. First I would like to talk about Ashely East. Ashely has made this entire process very easy for the family. This entire process is extremely difficult when a loved one has to be on 24 hour care. We applied at multiple nursing homes and Ashley was the very first to contact us. We knew the moment Ashely met us at our car to greet my mom this was going to be a great fit. We have heard horror stories about nursing homes but this facility seems to be a great fit for mom. I would also like to say everyone was friendly and accepting of a 91 years young lady. I love to write good reviews when the service was outstanding. I'm confident the entire group of really good people will continue to look after my mother. Thanks Ashely you have been wonderful.

My husband and I checked his mother in last week. Finding a facility and feeling comfortable with it was extremely difficult and the team here at Snow Hill Rehabilitation was fabulous. We met with Ashley East prior to moving my mother-in-law there from Encompass and Ashley was extremely helpful in providing guidance on a multitude of things including Medicare coverage, availability, and how to potential transition to assisted living. She went above and beyond to ensure an easy transition into the facility. Additionally, she coordinated a staff meet in greet with us where we met the entire staff who all were fabulous with their specific area of expertise. All of them were willing to answer our questions and help put out mind at ease on how to move forward. Understanding the long-term care process is not for the faint of heart and the entire staff at this facility has been wonderful. We are happy she is there.
The physical therapy and occupational therapy was excellent! The admin.staff are always asking if they can do anything else for us. Most of Nurses are very capable and friendly. The aids are very respectful. But! The meals are not to where they should be. I'm diabetic and we don't get served low sugar, low carb meals. If condiments are missing from the tray it difficult to get it during mealtime. I must mention the facility is kept very clean. They are shorthanded in most departments. Frustrating for all of us.
I apologize in advance for the lengthy review, but I wanted to provide detail behind this rating. If negative stars could be given, I would do that. My family's experience with this facility could have had tragic consequences had my mother not had relatives involved every step of the way during her short time at Snow Hill (approximately 10 days). With the exception of one nurse and the physical/occupational therapists, the personnel at this facility was grossly unqualified to provide the care my mother required. This includes the medical staff, administration, AND nutritionist. My family was assured before she entered the facility that this is the highest rated rehab facility in the region and would be uniquely qualified to provide that care--I cannot express what a blatant mischaracterization this was! Not only was the care sub-par, so were the resources and facility itself. The ceiling in my mother's room was literally falling apart, there was a non-functional can light hanging out of the ceiling with exposed wiring, and the facility did not have the medical supplies that my mother required--my father had to go out and get supplies that were critical to her care because the facility ran out of them. During her short stay at Snow Hill, my mother was taken to the ER three times, the last of those leading to hospitalization for malnutrition and dehydration, as well as existing medical issues that worsened under their care. Thankfully, she improved during her hospitalization following that last ER trip from Snow Hill, has now entered a different rehab facility, and is on the road to recovery. Please use caution in selecting a facility for your loved ones.
Ronette Steward ( gna aide) is extremely helpful and compassionate to the needs of my mother whom is in the rehabilitation center. She takes the time to engage with my mother and accommodates her every need. She is very perfessional, hardworking and passionate in what she does and it shows.Iam happy and at ease knowing she is on my mother's wing and in doing so I sleep comfortably.
