I am grateful that I have a nursing home for my mom, but the truth is that ALL nursing homes have issues. If you have loved ones here PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check on them. The nurses (not all...but most) are lazy and do not want to work or care about the patients. I've had a nurse or 2 take items from my mom's room. There are patients who take things from rooms, and the nurses are aware of them, yet they refuse to do anything. No one is ever available to take your call. Phones are rarely answered. I've gone there, spoke with people...when they decided to be there...and still don't get help. I've seen patients walking the hall naked, laying on the floor, sitting behind the nursing desk typing on computers because they are short staffed for nurses on the weekend especially. Only one person seems to truly care and wants to make a difference and that is Lavern Moore, and one nurse John who works on 2 West. I can name the ones that are lazy in leadership positions, but I'll show mercy and give them some grace. If people genuinely cared enough, it wouldn't be so bad. My mother likes it, but she has dementia, so she doesn't truly understand what is going on in real time. Management has changed hands 3 or 4 times since my mom has been there. When I meet with them...they seem concerned and want to help...and right after meeting with them...I find out they have left...and I'm back at square one. Lord, please help this nursing home to improve for patients and their families. Send people who care and truly want to make a difference to love and walk in Love.

I referred my aunt here for rehabilitation. The staff is pleasant compassionate and was always there lifting my aunts spirits. She loved her stay. I’d always offer to order her food but she enjoyed the meals they provided. The therapy department got my aunt back on her feet in as little as 6 weeks. I would like to the entire nursing team and therapy department for helping my aunt and getting her back home for the holidays!
Don't send a loved one here! My wife was there for three weeks and the care was definitely less than satisfactory. She was supposed to be turned every two hours and I would be there for 5-6 hours and never see any body come into her room. I would have to beg to get her in her chair and then out of her chair with a few hours due to a bed sore. When I would ask a nurse what meds she was giving she would be clueless. I would have to hunt down the nurse practitioner to talk with her. I left VM for 5 days straight for her records and would never get a return call. Finally hunted the person down responsible and now it has been over a week and still don't have the records. With all this said the speech pathologist was AMAZING! And some nurses and nurse aids definitely cared about patients, but the facility was understaffed. There were however many nurses/aids that were there just for a paycheck. Therapy was descent, but due to corrupt medical insurance industry my wife didn't get as much as she needed. I'm glad she is out of there and back home, even if it costs me more of my time. At least I know she is getting the best care.
My mom was there in the late 90s for a weekend. She was terrified, screaming & shaking when I got there. That was only the 1st night. I'd never seen her like that in my life. She said they wouldn't let her call me & they refused to pull her up in her bed. She had horrible staff. I spent the weekend with her there til I could move her. She wasn't the only patient that had issues that weekend. From the most recent reviews here, nothing has changed !!! This place needs to be shut down NOW!!!!!
