It's hard not to fill this review up with a list of superlatives, so I'll just tell you a story. My darling wife and partner of 33 years has been dealing with an Alzheimer's / dementia diagnosis for 6 years now. After 24/7 caregiving became more than I could handle in our home we looked at a number of options to place her for assisted living and long term care. One of our primary goals was to find a place that felt more like a HOME instead of like an institution, or like a hospital. Somebody we trust suggested Silverbell Homestead and my wife's sister visited with me in November. It was immediately clear that this was THE PLACE for us. We were fortunate when a room opened up January 1. (Silverbell only has 13 residents, and each one has a private suite with full bath.) It's such a caring, homelike environment here, and every one of the residents is just so well respected and treated as if they really were family. Everybody from Rae the owner to Megan the care manager, and down through every single caregiver on the staff, daytime or night time, would be welcome at our dinner table anytime. We have come to appreciate and love every one of them. Of course there have been challenges, that's the nature of her disease. As each one of those has cropped up, Silverbell has absolutely stepped up proactively and managed it with all the resources at their command. Sometimes the resident loved one's family has difficult choices to make. In every case I've been able to rely on a point of view that put my wife's safety, cleanliness, and happiness ahead of any other goals. I can't say we'll be here for the rest of her life, but if her disease allows us to go that way and we can stay right where we are, we would love that! Too bad I can only give 5 stars...

My Aunt who has dementia, is a resident at Silverbell Homestead for over a year now. Recently this location got hit by hurricane winds and rain. Silverbell was prepared with a generator to keep the power on and they have a well. I'm very pleased at how they handled the storm. Preparations were in place. Workers stayed when the next shift could not get in due to the storm. The tired staff stayed and cared for the residents. That says a lot!
Absolutely phenomenal home that is resident-centered. The staff are brilliant, kind, and attentive. They make every effort to connect with their residents on a deep and meaningful level. The homestead itself is gorgeous and truly feels like a home, not a facility. The food is wonderful and fresh, and the staff caters to people’s respective diets and tastes.
My husband has been a resident at Silverbell Homestead for 21 months and I am very pleased with the care he has received. The staff are kind, compassionate and well trained. Communication with the director/owner, RN, supervisor and caregivers is excellent. Anytime I have a concern about my husband, they are all willing to work with me to address the problem. My husband is happy there and almost every day comments on the beauty of Silverbell and how nice everyone is. I highly recommend Silverbell Homestead!
I recently toured this impressive home. The staff really care and the owner is a pleasure! As a techy guy, I immediately noticed the attention to security and safety. They have clearly put time and thought into this new build including fire doors & sprinklers, and an electrical generator. This home exceeded my expectations, as they seemed to have missed nothing and thought of everything. I would feel very safe having my parent (or myself) here. And, what a beautiful view of the mountains there is!
