Professional and compassionate. Highly competent and caring. I needed to find the very best place to care for my dear wife when I was no longer able to. We both are so fortunate that my professional social workers, Erin and Carol, guided me to the St. Charles facility. The Silverado philosophy is an underlying foundation that guides the administrative staff with whom I have so much respect. They would be standouts anywhere, but they are unique in that they are memory care specialists and are drawn to helping and caring for people. My core support group there are Brittany (business manager, and practically anything else needed) Urszula and Wendy ( nursing) and Anna, master caregiver. Along with her neurologist, Dr. Grujic, this group has helped my wife become a happy and participating part of the community. They were sympathetic to me through my period of adjustment as my wife was going through hers. Long, sometimes late hour texts of questions, 2nd guessing, and 'my opinions' to Brittany and Urzula were treated patiently. I recall hearing 'trust the system' from them when times were tough. One special caregiver, Shakira,(they are ALL great and talented), took her under her wing and has helped us both along the way. Please change bedding and provide clean bedding every day. including Saturday and Sunday. Not sure why this is a challenge. $12,500 per month and unwilling to provide adequate staff. Dirty bathrooms continue. Silverado leadership focused on profits!!!
Mom seems happy at Silverado, has made a lot of new friends, is in a safe environment and often engages in activities. There is good communication with the executive staff as to needs. We've gotten to know the caregivers who tend to mom on a regular basis and they are helpful and attentive. The Family Events such as Oktoberfest and Thanksgiving have been wonderful -- looking forward to the upcoming Holiday Decorating Party in Dec; all excellent opportunities to meet other families and engage with your loved one in a welcoming and fun setting -- and to enjoy some very good food!:)
We came to Silverado from another memory facility that did not work out for us—we were exhausted and out of options. They were like a welcoming harbor to storm-tossed sailors. Their attentiveness and caring was matched with expertise and skill. We had full confidence that our loved one was in good hands, and we could concentrate on being his family again, without having to be nurses and crisis managers as well. Quite simply, Silverado is the best.
My Mom has been a resident in Silverado St. Charles since 6/24/24. Myself and my family could not be happier about her care. Every staff member from Jill the Administrator, clinical staff, to the receptionist have been supportive, professional, attentive and compassionate. All administrative communications, requests etc. have been handled swiftly and efficiently. I researched 7 other facilities these past 10 months and found Silverado checks all the boxes and has helped Mom adjust tremendously well. Mom is settling in and she seems happy and at peace and so is her whole family. Thank you.
