I am disappointed in the care my loved one is receiving. Her hair is never washed when I visit and I have to assume she isn't bathed regularly. It's so bad, I hate to even visit as it's upsetting to see the shape she's in. The end room where families gather needs far better seating accommodations and a paint job. In fact, the whole place needs a fresh paint job with a happier color. It also needs plant life that the patients can attend to. It is drab and dreary at best. The TV doesn't work. This seems a simple fix. They should be showing decent movies there all day. Instead, there is a piano that functions but I never see anyone playing it. Many staff members seem oblivious yet others are helpful and courteous. If I had my choice, I would instantly place my loved one elsewhere but I am not in control of her destiny at the moment. That may change and if and when it does, I plan to withdraw her from this house of horrors and send her to a proper institution ASAP. There is little for patients to do at this facility. While I have seen other facilities that are worse in my opinion, this place is no four or five star resort as claimed repeatedly. Were I contained there, I would leap through a window at the first opportunity. Either that or escape. Like I said, some staff members seem to genuinely care about these poor people, but they are not in a position to do much to affect their quality of life. This place is sad. The patio is a plus as it allows my loved one a few precious moments away from the dismal hallways she wanders otherwise. They could certainly do a lot better than they do to care for their patients. No doubt, you will see denials from this facility regarding this assessment, but it is an honest appraisal. I challenge you to do better. Surprise me and have my loved one in a presentable state and engaged happily in an activity when I arrive and I may change my rating. For now, feel fortunate to have earned two stars. You certainly don't deserve four or five yet.

I was a patient for 1 year at Silver Springs, and I hope no one sends their loved ones to this place. When I was there, they put me on medication, without telling me. I didn’t know I was on it, until my fiancé picked me up and I was falling asleep in the car. I was left in the bathroom for 30 minutes, more than one time. My room was in front of the nursing station and I would hear them making fun of patients all day. My food was taken out of the refrigerator, which was only accessible by staff. My roommate threatened me, and when I told staff and the director of the facility, nothing was done, and he ended up punching someone else. They also did not bathe me or brush my teeth for a couple months when I was unable to do so myself. My fiancé had to come and tell them over and over again. I am giving them 1 star because of the handful of good hardworking people that helped me. I waited over 1 year to post this to because I wanted to clear my head, but my feelings haven’t changed. If you know someone that needs care, I would look into other places with more professional people.
Silver Springs is the absolute best place for your loved ones! Award winning food, engaged community of residents, and a beautiful and well maintained facility. The best part though is all the love put into every corner of the building by the staff who cares so much for everyone inside. So happy about our choice!
I have been very impressed with the staff at Silver Springs. They are a hard working, caring group of people that really taken care of my loved one. Unfortunately, I live in Pennsylvania and can not visit as often as I would like, but every time I do visit things are great. They do everything they can to enhance their resident's life and just generally care. I feel very fortunate that my MOM IS IN SUCH A PLACE, especially given my inability to visit often.
I lived there for 2yrs.and felt they didn't care ti get me better enough to leave when I actually could. So long g that I had ni where to go. Remember they are making money a d if you can do your own clothing and showering they get paid for nothing.
