Silver Birch is Wonderful! From the People, to the Facilities, to the Kitchen. the Kitchen Help, the nurses and other caregivers on staff, Silver Birch is a Wonderful Place to spend your Golden Years if you are not too active. Silver Birch is not an Active Retirement Community when it comes to Golf, Pickle Ball, having a Swimming Pool, and on and on... Most people that live there are not interested in those kinds of things, so, you have to make sure you select the best destination for your end goal. We were looking for my mom, who is in her late 80's for a place to live where she would be looked after with her medications, be inside when she left her room so she would never fall in snow or ice, and to have 3 good meals per day. We had looked at several places before Silver Birch, and the one we made an appointment to take a tour in Newburgh, stood us up, which was perfect, as we sat there about an hour being ignored, we saw how rudely they treated us, and how they were also just as rude to the residents that came to the counter asking questions, or for help. So, with that experience, we are glad we did not go to that place, and are very happy with the results of selecting Silver Birch. It really says something that a worker from Silver Birch left to go work at that place, and what do you know, he came back to Silver Birch, so, I would guess that they treat the employees just as bad as the residents, or us from our first impression visit... From day one, the Crew at Silver Birch, even when they had no idea who we were, we were treated like humans, and with respect. We got the tour of the place, and it did not take long, as there is not too much to show, but what they did shows was respect and courtesy to us, and showed they had Integrity and a Big Loving, and Welcoming Heart! So, if you are looking for a safe place for a loved family member, then they are in good hands here, and they are just a mile of so from doctors and hospitals, and they have transportation to get our seniors to their appointments, and to even take them to Walmart to go shopping, and about once per month they pick a restaurant to go out and eat at to mix it up. Two Thumbs Up for Silver Birch! I would already be there, however, you must be 55 to live there, and my wife is not there yet, so it is going to be a bit before I get to move in!

I have never been a fan of the “nursing home or assisted living” ambiance. Silver Burch is the first facility I’ve been in where there is no nursing home ambiance. The staff is super friendly, the facility is clean and beautiful, and the residents seem happy; truly a place I wouldn’t mind “ending up at” when it’s my time for assisted living!
What a shame to see your adoptive mother as the nursing director who has abused me for 9 years taking care of the very vulnerable. Clearly this company knows nothing about.
Visited a few times and love the place. Very clean and welcoming. Staff was always smiling and paying attention to the residents with warm hearts and compassion
What appeared to be a wonderful atmosphere for assisted living for my mom, quickly became the most unorganized and uncaring nightmare we ever imagined. Just getting ahold of someone who gave a rip during normal business hours was a monumental task. If you care about your loved ones, do not recommend this place to them. If you control the decision for assisted living care, don't send them to this place. The food is so bad, my mom often did not eat. When it was somewhat palatable, they refused to deliver to the room if she was sick or incapacitated. She was frequently told that if she could not get up, she wasn't going to eat. Some of the staff showed compassion. Most did not. Don't expect any follow up. When my mom fell and had to go to the E.R., I was never notified of the incident after she laid on the floor for nearly 2 hours. The place needs an overhaul from management on down. It gets one star because it is a beautiful facility. That's the only positive about Silverbirch.
