My dad, Jim has not stayed overnight anywhere but his home in years, so my brother (dad’s full time caregiver) and I were worried that he might be unhappy or just ignored, but both days that I went to visit he was smiling and clean and said that he had slept pain free & well! He still has a couple more days of respite care while my brother and his wife get a well earned break and I am so grateful that hospice makes it possible and the Sierra Basin facility has such dedicated and caring staff! And a special shout out to all the folks at nurses station #4! You are so appreciated!!

My mom was blessed and lucky enough to be able to come and stay at this amazing facility in Carson City for 7 weeks! Her care and rehab was awesome!! From her aides up to her PA were so wonderful! My mom’s aides were so caring and helpful. I want to acknowledge them by name, Angie, Jennifer, Denise, Dee, Cheryl, Mikah and Samantha. I probably forgot a couple but they all were amazing. My mom’s nurses were also wonderful and here are the ones I remember, Carol, Michelle, Luke, Jesslyn, Ken, Jessica and Nikki. All the staff here were great!! My mom’s OT, PT and Speech therapists were so patient with my mom. They would not let her give up and would remind her, if you do not use it, you will loose it. Her recovery from her stroke and then having a pacemaker put in while she was in their care was so awesome! The therapists names I remember were Brooke, Alec, Eric, Hillary, Ryan and Karen. My mom was so appreciative of all their hard work in helping her rehab. The activity coordinators were great too, Laurie and Rebecca! They got mom involved and did not let her say no and she would have so much fun with the activities they planned! Kelsie was also a big help working with my mom’s insurance company which was not an easy task but she did great! The PA Jenny was so friendly and knowledgeable too. I never got a chance to meet her doctor but mom said she liked him too. Also the staff at the coffee shop and lunch room were so nice!! Of course the front desk ladies were greeting you with a smile every time you came in their facility. I was blessed to spend a lot of time there with my mom during her stay. My sister and I were just so impressed with our mom’s care and rehab at the beautiful and clean facility. It is only 5 years old and looks brand new. We want to thank all the staff at the Carson Tahoe Transitional Rehabilitation Center for their caring and supportive attitudes for our mom!! We could not have asked for a better place for our mom to recover and rehab!! Thank you!!
Beautiful facility. We toured all of the local facilities and chose this one because its very clean, has a homey feel, and a great physical therapy center as well as a dietician onsite. My sister loved her first meal!
Mom has no TV remote and can't walk and waits over an hour to get any help after pushing her help button. The lady n the purple outfit is rude and doesn't listen to her paitents needs and dose what she wants. My mom has not had a good experience here. I'm looking for a new place for her. UPDATE FOR Jan. 22, 2025. Still a one star. People are nice but not doing there job. My mom wasn't getting her showers or diaper changes but once a day. They spranged her arm so now she is worse. No one calls the family to talk about progress. Talked to nurse Nikki about my mom coming home. She said they were having a meeting about it today and she would call me about their decision. She never called me and I called at 2 pm and she went on vacation and I was transferred to a message machine. I left a message and now it is7:30 pm and still no one has called me back on when my mom can be released. THIS PLACE SUCKS, DON'T TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE'S HERE. THEY WON'T GET THE HELP THEY NEED ONCE YOU LEAVE THEM ALONE.
Very clean with staff smiles all the time. 3 12hr days for staff is way too taxing and patients deserve better 1-1 care. They are all out of their element and comfort zones, so faces changing constantly is offsetting to them. Great facility in Carson city!
