I'm not sure what's going on there, but the activity director Melanie has not gotten back to me since September after great reception from the residents for 2 performances in the first half of 2024. It doesn't seem like it's a funding issue, since I don't charge very much, but rather a laziness issue, where they just don't want to bring the residents out from their rooms into an activity room since that would require staff getting them to an activity room.

WARNING! There is a reason this place has a one star rating! Shippensburg Healthcare Center did the worst thing one could ever imagine. My father was brought there by his “girlfriend” after suffering a stroke. My father died there and they never informed the family, nor did they even inform the coroner. We found out from a letter the girlfriend sent after our father had died. She didn’t tell the family anything in the letter as to where our father had died or where his body was. I spent 7 hours trying to find my father, something a daughter who loves her father more than anything in this world should never have to do. The coroners office finally found where my father died and where he had been sent after Shippensburg Healthcare Center violated the rules and did not follow proper protocol by informing his children or the coroner about a death at their center. My sister and I were never given the chance to be by our fathers side, to tell him one more time how much we love him, to comfort him or say our final good bye. We will suffer from this forever and all because Shippensburg Healthcare Center did not do the right thing, the proper thing, the legal thing. When I called to speak to someone about my father and his final days, a woman named April showed Zero compassion and said she would call me back. She never called back. If you truly care about your loved ones than you should NEVER let them go to this center. They caused my family so much pain.
I have never ever seen such a terrible place. My mom was there four years ago. I agree with Sara's review. My mom had the beginning of Dementia, so they had to put her on third floor. She was only there for rehab for a broken arm after her surgery. Funny her arm healed fine, but she passed. Thank god we got her out of there and got her home to pass away at home . Most of people there seem to not care about the patients. NO doctor, except like once a month. So my poor mom with heart condition didn't get care she needed. They would just leave my mom sitting in a wheelchair after dinner in dinningroom all by herself. My poor dad went there everyday and spent most of day there. I live in Calif. and was there everyday as well. And they do yell at patients. Those poor patients. I hope everyone reads Sara's review also because everything her post is true.
The worst nursing home ever. They are clearly not properly trained. They yell and don’t take good care of the residents. The residents are always falling and getting hurt. It’s very unsafe here. My grandmother is here and I couldn’t be more upset at the care she’s getting here. They argue with specialists. Rude to the families. Giving false information to families about their eating. Workers are never paying attention to patients that are wondering around and ones that go into others rooms. They don’t properlyhelp residents eat. Clothes are always missing and other stuff. Personal hygiene not where it belongs. Leaving wet diapers on the wheelchairs with dirty clothes. Not cleaning clothes. Clothes returning with holes. I could go on about this place. I will be reporting this nursing home for the safety of these residents. It breaks my heart. Don’t bring your loved one here!
My father was a patient for three weeks before he passed. We were kept informed every step of the way. We were given options and what they thought was the best way to go. I nothing bad to say about this home. Extremely compassionate!!!!
