I am a current work and it’s ridiculous how many times I have called ima row and in a day back to back and gotten no where besides voicemails I received a voicemail from someone name heather 4:24 and I repeatedly ,repeatedly called for 10 minutes straight so have an automated message tell me business hours at so to 4:30pm. That’s frustrating I’ve been just trying to speak to someone about my CPR card giving me a run around and no never answering a single phone is beyond ridiculous. And still was told that it’s not even on file how does HUMAN RESOURCES CORPORATE of Shepherd of the Valley lose someone’s CPR card. Someone up there needs to get it together.

I did attempt to contact the CEO to discuss my concerns but apparently he was not interested in them because it’s now over a week and my message was not returned. This is a nursing home/rehab facility where they deal with sick and elderly patients. A family member was in rehab so I was a daily visitor for a few weeks. The mask policy is supposed to be that staff wears them all the time and patients are mandated to wear them when they are outside of their rooms. I saw staff with masks around their chins and residents in common areas constantly without any mask in sight. In physical therapy, patients are told they do not have to wear their masks because it’s easier for them to breathe without their masks. Yet, when I inquired to a therapist about her vaccination status, I was told she was not vaccinated because she has already had COVID and has “natural immunity.” The therapist/patient relationship is by nature a very physically close relationship because of the work they are doing. So I had this unvaccinated therapist right up against my unmasked family member! Again, these are sick and elderly people, the most vulnerable to COVID! Once my family member was discharged, the home health care team was assigned to come to the home for additional therapy. I inquired as to the vaccination status of the first therapist and was told he is vaccinated. Then got a call back later stating most of their therapists have chosen not to disclose vaccination status (I’m going to assume they aren’t). Therapist told my family member he is not vaccinated so I guess he lied when I asked. It is a shame this facility does not appear to take COVID seriously at all.
I’m in my 20th year working for Shepherd of the Valley, and I can tell you that it’s a great place to work! I’m enjoying a rewarding career working with a great group of outstanding professionals!
Shepherd of the Valley shows care & compassion for both, its residents and employees! A Great place live or further your career!
As this is the corporate headquarters, not one if the actual nursing homes...they seem a little uninformed about Medicaid policy and how to apply. They were helpful...but inaccurate.
