Having to place a loved one in a facility is the hardest decision to possibly make. There comes a time though you cannot take care of them safely on your own. I am glad that Shady Oaks came highly recommended to me by our attorney's office. My husband spent almost a year there and got the very best of care. The staff was wonderful and took such great care of him. Visiting him daily I got to know and truly like everyone he came in contact with. The nursing staff is the absolute best. If I felt there was a problem it was attended to right away. I certainly would recommend Shady Oaks as a place to be for great care. Tyson and his staff are always available when you need them.

Shady Oaks Assisted Living is amazing. The care my mother received when she was there was wonderful. She was much happier and ALL the staff was so caring, kind and patient with here. The owner, Tyson Belanger was very helpful when we first met him and answer all our questions. I cannot express how grateful my family is that we found this place. Shady Oaks makes you feel like family and not like a number. Even after my mom passed, I still go back to visit her roommate and some of the staff. I cannot thank them enough for all they did for her. I highly recommend Shady Oaks Assisted Living.
My mom lived at Shady Oaks for 6 years. She was wonderfully cared for and loved. The staff does a great job in creating a feeling of home and are very dedicated to their work and the residents. Not only was my mom in great hands, I also felt very supported through her entire stay. Many thanks to Tyson and Shady Oaks for providing a safe and loving 6 years for my family member and for giving me peace of mind.
Shady Oaks # 1 Assisted Living Center Highest Standards-Loving Care-Strong Nursing Part 1 of review My sister died unexpectedly about 2 years ago. She had been her husband’s caregiver for many years. We had to find a place her husband could live and have his daily needs met. We met with Tyson Belanger, the owner of Shady Oaks. After the tour of the facility and a sit down with Tyson and we then talked with several staff members. Most of the staff we spoke to had worked at Shady Oaks for years. To us that speaks volumes. The staff enjoy where they work and are treated very well and fairly by management. The residents at Shady Oaks get the best of care because of this. The ratio of caregivers and excellent nursing staff is impressive. Tyson’s employees are The Cream of the Crop!! We now live in Florida so it was imperative that we find a facility in Connecticut that could take care of our brother-in-law’s needs. Shady Oaks rates 5 Stars Hands Down! Part 2 of review - 2 weeks after moving to Florida. We are our brother-in law’s only family. He asked us to find him an assisted living place in Florida, so he could be closer to us. He had no complaints about Shady Oaks and said he just wanted to be closer to us. We found him a very nice place close to us in Florida. He realized very quickly that he liked Shady Oaks much better. Shady Oaks was a tough act to follow. He felt he had a group of competent and deeply caring people at Shady Oaks. Then he said:” I miss my friends at Shady Oaks, I want to go HOME!" I called Nicole (Director of Nursing) at Shady Oaks and asked if his room was still available because my brother-in-law wanted to come back. I gave the phone to my brother -in-law and he asked Nicole and Tyson if he could come HOME. Thankfully, his room was still available! The large corporate companies should observe Tyson and his staff for a while, and they may learn a few things that they may find helpful. The building is large with the grand entrance being very impressive. When you require quality care with your daily needs, our brother-in-law much preferred to be at Shady Oaks than the previous larger corporate facility. If you need to find a place for your loved one or for yourself, Shady Oaks is worth the visit. My wife and I live 1,200 miles away from Shady Oaks. We do not worry if our brother-in -law’s needs are being met, we know they are being met at Shady Oaks. Most of all, he is happy at Shady Oaks, and he is being very well cared for. Shady Oaks is Home for him. He now appreciates that more than ever!
Earlier this year, we had to remove my mom from an unsafe home environment. Prior to this both my sister and I had separately researched facilities and individually came to the same conclusion that Shady Oaks was the type of environment that provided that care that our mom needed and deserved. I cannot speak highly enough of Tyson and his staff, specifically Terri and Nikki. My mother had a lot of trepidation about transitioning into this next chapter in her life and the staff and the group of individuals that provide her care have been such a blessing to her and our family. In her first days, she exclaimed verbatim that she was in "heaven". I have found Shady Oaks to be professional, empathetic, compassionate, and above all communicative and responsive. They treat my mom with dignity, love and respect, which is of the utmost importance to me in her later years. I cannot thank them enough for or speak highly enough of the part they play in our lives.
