First of all, unfortunately, you MUST award one star and cannot award negative stars.......... Now for my review: For many years, I actually didn't want to comment on this "facility," but since I'm now being confronted with obscure demands for my mother's stay, I've decided, as announced over the phone, to briefly explain to future residents and their families what happened in this facility during our mother's stay, which ended with her being in a persistent vegetative state for 1.5 years and her untimely death at the age of 72..... Our mother was a "patient" in this facility, or, as we like to call it in the family, this "antechamber to hell," for a few months in 2022. As I said, our mother's stay ended with 1.5 years in a persistent vegetative state and death at the age of 72............. The first few days were somewhat bearable, but then this facility and its "qualified" staff showed their true colors..... During a visit to my mother, I witnessed the double-amputee resident of the room opposite our mother fall out of bed and land on the floor while trying to climb from his bed into his wheelchair after ringing for a staff member for an extended period. After several minutes, a staff member approached this resident (she apparently hadn't noticed that I was visiting my mother at the same time), took a quick look into the resident's room, started laughing loudly, leaned back into the hallway, and "informed" her colleague, shouting loudly across the hallway, "You have to take a look, Mr.... is lying on the floor like a ladybug again... he should stay down, otherwise he won't learn that he has to wait..." and left the room without having helped the resident........ That's just a side note, and now to our mother..... Due to the "excellent" care and support of our mother, the "regular" monitoring of her fluid intake, and the "regular" checking of her catheter and urine bag, our mother experienced sepsis five times in just a few months, triggered by massive urinary tract infections..... Of course, the sepsis conditions didn't come to the attention of the staff, but rather to us as a family, since our mother was completely lethargic in this state of sepsis, fantasizing, and 40 degrees Celsius... We pointed this out to the staff and received the answer: "We can't sit there all day and watch whether her mother is drinking or not...". I then asked the staff more than once to call an ambulance immediately. This, too, was always commented on with the words "yes, let's do it right away..." and a completely annoyed expression....... The fifth bout of sepsis ultimately led to our mother having to be placed in an induced coma, from which she unfortunately never fully awoke until her death at the age of 72........ This was a brief summary of my and our experiences..... And this "care facility" is now confronting me (after 3 years) with some obscure demands for payment, even though our father, who died 8 months before our mother, entered into a care contract with this institution..... Without any basis, I, who was just in the process of processing all these experiences, am being pressured with calls, registered mail, letters, and threats, so that everything I experienced is coming back to me, and I find myself in a psychologically exceptional situation again... My brief description should serve as a warning about this facility..... If the threats against me do not end immediately, I will make a very big deal out of our Experiences...as I already told the employee who constantly tries to pressure me over the phone... Please take care of your family members if you leave your loved ones in this facility...

My mother has been living in the Saline retirement home for a good 5 years now. At the beginning everything was fine, but over the past two years she has been liking it there less and less. On the one hand, there is the constantly changing staff. Either the staff is changed from station to station, or new employees are constantly starting. Especially with dementia it is difficult to get used to new staff. By the way, my mother thought it was really great that there were staff there who didn't speak any German. At the beginning you had to communicate with your hands and feet. The room maintenance has also seriously deteriorated. Although the floor is mopped every day and the bed is freshly made once a week, dust has not been removed there for over a year. As a relative, I now have to do this myself. I wonder what it's like for residents who no longer have relatives? There doesn't seem to be a caretaker there anymore either. The lights in the hallway at Ward 1 have been hanging at half past seven for months. Can't you just finish it? The wallpaper in my mother's room is also already coming off the wall. Basically nothing is invested in the inventory. I can't say much about the food. All I ever hear from my mother is that she doesn't like it. Once me and my husband saw dinner on the plate. A slice of bread, some cold cuts and cheese. No tomato, no cucumber, nothing. But a healthy, varied diet looks different for us. The staff is generally very nice, with a few exceptions. You just try to cope with the situation somehow, but you are also completely overwhelmed. All of this led me to look for a new home for my mother, which wasn't all that wrong. Today I received a letter saying that the Saline retirement home is facing a challenging situation. No staff, no nursing services, so many things fall outside the box or have to be done by relatives. The WTG authorities in Soest have issued a temporary ban on re-occupancy of the Saline senior citizens' home, which means that no more short-term or long-term residents are allowed to be admitted. This means is intended to address deficiencies and improve the quality of care. Then you can only wish everyone involved all the best in turning things around again. In any case, the situation as it is now is unsustainable.
My uncle lives at the Saline retirement home in Bad Sassendorf. They offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly and takes loving care of the residents. The facility is modern and well-maintained, and the diverse offerings provide variety and a sense of well-being. A wonderful place where seniors can feel at home!
After a hospital stay, my mother went to the hospital for 11 days before she is now back in the hospital. I can only recommend the house and would be happy if she could come back there after her hospital stay. ALL the staff are nice, friendly and they really care, including the lady who cleans the room...everything positive 👍
The best establishment in the area. A lot is done for the residents and with the residents. Very good cuisine, the food is always fresh.
