My family is so appreciative of this facility right here in Lexington, KY. There are so many reasons to celebrate this place and the folks that work there. Here are a few: 1. The staff are like family to our loved ones. They genuinely care for their residents and are passionate in their daily interactions. They instill dignity and respect. Even when no-one is looking. Many staff there have been employed by Sayre for not just months, but YEARS. This consistency helps the residents immensely. They are able to build trusting relationships, which means the world to me and all my family. I want to especially thank folks like Monica, Damien, Chrissy, Penny, Karen, Chris, and Bobby. As well as the folks that work the front desk as they are often first impressions of a facility. 2. Sayre is a long term continuum care campus. Ranging from low-income housing for 'matured adults', independent living, memory care to nursing. It's a great place to 'grow old.' 3. Sayre is a non-profit Christian organization. They are ethical, stewards of their finances, and have character. We love our Sayre family!

Update on my previous review. This place has really turned around since the last time I was there (about a month ago). The a/c was working well and it was very hot today so I can tell they fixed it. The rooms looked as if they were deep cleaned and all the floors were shining. The smell was pleasant and there was no longer any odor of urine or feces. Most importantly the staff were very pleasant and were checking on my little lady quite often today! Another important thing I noticed was the residents seemed happier and were up walking around. I am so pleased and feel very comfortable coming more often now. Thank you Sayre for all the changes you made. You really care about the residents and the families complaints and addressed every one of my concerns.
Our southern gospel quartet has had the great honor and privilege of singing for the wonderful residents at SCV Friendship Towers several times over the last several years. During our visits, we have witnessed how accommodating, attentive, and genuinely devoted the SCV staff are to ensuring the well-being, comfort, and happiness of the residents. The residents seem very content in this beautiful facility, and it is definitely a safe place that we would highly recommend!
Update: I stand by the things in the post below. However once I posted it I did receive a call from the administrator of Sayre. She did show compassion and was willing to listen to my side. She was very understanding and did explain some things I was unaware of. Apparently since I left some issues I mentioned have been handled. The administrator did say she would look into my other concerns. I commend her for reaching out to me. This is my original post: This place is awful. The management doesn't care about the aides or Residents. Always understaffed and unappreciated unless the state is in the building. Meals were inconsistent on times they were brought to the floor and food was cold. Residents suffered from poor management and lack of staffing. Resident falls and or injuries were not being reported and swept under the rug so to speak. The work environment was uncomfortable unless you were in the right click. I reported things concerning some of the staff I worked with and the resident care or lack thereof. I was told by the DON I report to much:| There are some amazing aides and a few nurses on unit 1 that made my time there bearable. I would not recommend this place for your loved one's or yourself.
The personnel that works in there are super friendly, very compassionate and amazing! 5 Stars to them!!! I am giving 4 stars because some little “things” that could be “repaired”. 1) Food could be improved but if not at least served hot (it’s always cold) 2) Front desk: could the attendant there give a call to someone informing that there’s a package or food for a room? If it’s food do it right away? 3) Have someone at the front desk all the time, I am saying after 5pm doesn’t seems there’s no one there and t’s the first “impression” when someone walks in…not an empty place!
