I went to visit some friends and had lunch in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was good and the grounds were very well kept.

Rose Villa is a business first and foremost. It used to be a ministry, offering protection for those who outlive their resources but once the Byrd came on the scene - things changed fast. My dad's sudden passing became a business opportunity. Finally, a long awaited piece of property would be turned into office space. They couldn't get us out of there fast enough. It didn't matter that he spent 40 years of his life in service to the Rose Villa community. It was all about the money. If you are looking for a place that cares about you or your parents - hopefully there are still some old-timers working there but don't think for a moment that anyone wants more than the huge entrance fees and whatever else they can get from you. Administration used to care about the person - now....well... Good luck.
This is a business motivated for the money and it shows. It was marketed to my brother and wife as continueing care but has no assisted living. If you are well or need a nursing home, it is a great place but get sick like he did and just need help you must hire a person to be with you or are forced out losing your buy in completely. The "in home services" are a joke. How do you schedule a bathroom need? It is NOT in house, it is nothing more than contracting with an outside agency. At night, or if you need help with minor things, you are own your own. Its either stay well or get sick enough for nursing home. No assisted. Be aware. We lost a lot of money thinking he could stay there to the end as we were led to believe.
My family has lived at Rose Villa since it was first built way back when. One elderly aunt still resides there. The healthcare people in the care center are fabulous. The ONLY drawback is the food. It has NEVER been good. Not ever. Not since grandma first moved in
i waited 13 months for unit 4104 to be constructed. i moved in at 8:10pm on 7/7/16. the transitions director handed me the key. last i saw of her although i had met her in june, 2015 when i got to choose upgrades: paint colors, flooring, cabinets, appliances, fireplace, etc. at that time she told me that a double stainless steel sink was my only option i told her i didn't want stainless steel or a double sink. my next door neighbor actually yelled at her and was able to get a single sink. another resident screamed at her because she lied and told the resident her unit had a yard...it didn't. after waiting 13 months and paying $312,147 for the 'registration fee' and upgrades, the apartment is a rectangle with a galley kitchen, a miniscule west facing patio without a roof (unusable because of the heat and rain), a lowflow toilet that almost never flushes clean, a thermostat that has malfunctioned since day one, etc, etc, etc. i have filled out hundreds(?) of work orders for repairs for unsuitable conditions. supposed to hear back within 24 hours. many work orders are never fulfilled or mentioned. forced to resubmit until someone takes notice. 99% of the 170+ staff members are respectful and competent. 99% of the residents are respectful and/or friendly. if it weren't for the registration fee, you might want to consider living here, but until that is no longer required, please look elsewhere...anywhere with no registration fee! my unit is fit for a guest room but not a full time residence.
