What a great experience walking into Rock Canyon Respiratory. The staff is kind and they were willing to show me their facility. The reception was warm and the tour was so positive. When looking for a place to bring your loved one for care most definitely come here. I am very happy with my choice to come and visit here.

Amazing facility. Love and kindness is given to every resident here. It's clear how much the staff cares for every one of their residents and for each other. Family is important and it is like one big family here.
I toured many nursing homes both in Pueblo and Colorado Springs . We settled on placing my mom at Rock Canyon Memory Unit based on several reasons. The facility was clean , very well staffed , and adequate room throughout the facility. I was at first hesitant in placing my mom in any nursing home. However, I am very pleased with my decision because Rock Canyon has exceeded all my expectations. The staff is very caring and helpful. I have 24/7 access to my mom and I have peace of mind the she is receiving the best of care. Thank you Rock Canyon staff for caring so much.
I'm a long term resident. Over all its good. The reason for such bad reviews is I've personally seen why so many have issues. Most of the CNAs will look at someone and judge by there personal view weather someone can do something on there own or not. Instead of looking at it in more of a CNA point of view. This is why so many mistakes are made here. As well as when a resident or there family expresses a issue management is quick to try to fix the issue but the staff I see it here refuse to do as asked. Because of the personal view. I don't try to ear hustle but I've heard many times staff backbiting saying amongst themselves I'm not doing that. So All and all. Five major issues. One communication and obideance to orders. Two punishment to be upheld if orders not followed three. You have computers with all the residents info. There is no reason for not knowing what the resident needs. Staff has access to what they need to know. And four check your attitude at the door. And five if a resident or there family hold staff or facility accountable don't circle the wagons. Accountability is part of your mission statement. And it's not totally followed. Also costumer second? I'm well it's us residents that put money in your pocket and food on the workers table. You may wanna change this view because it's accually costumer first and intelligent risk. In the medical field never ever take any risk, at all! You may be dealing with someone who if something happens so much as a fall and the injuries caused could be severe. Hopefully this helps. I’m going to wait to post a thorough review until my loved one is out of there, so they don’t retaliate and treat her/us badly (they’re already pretty rude, despite being polite to them). For now, i’ll just say don’t be so quick to believe all the good reviews. I’m assuming all those good reviews are either old, or for the main building since that’s the nice building. The ‘Riverwalk’ building is not good at all. From the building to the workers/nurses, it’s all bad. Of course there are always 1 or 2 good workers, but i visit often and most of the time they’re pretty careless and avoidant. Nor do they ever have enough workers to make sure everyone is taken care of properly. I’ll stop there for now but I’ll absolutely come back to explain it all in detail once we don’t have to deal with them anymore. It’s sad and frustrating knowing the person you love the most is probably being neglected a lot of the time and may not ever get better. Unfortunately this one of the only ones to accept her, so we didn’t have much of a choice. Very disappointed at the overall lack of empathy and urgency.
