I had the pleasure of staying at Riverside after 2 injuries for physical therapy. The staff was so kind helpful during my recovery. I am 54 and didn't know what to expect going to therapy in a nursing home. I had daily sessions with a very professional physical and occupational staff. The 1st time I was there with a broken back and was able to return home after 2 weeks (the hospital arranged my recovery). I had a lot of downtime outside of therapy and I was able to witness how well the nursing home ran. I was very happy with my stay and when I injured my knee 1.5 years later I made it clear to the hospital that I wanted to go to Riverside for my therapy. I am writing this on the eve of my discharge again only 2 weeks after I entered the facility. I just can't say enough good things about my stay and about how the staff treated the residents. If I ever need to go into a nursing home Riverside would be my first choice. Very professional facility

Our family would like to thank the entire staff of Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community for the care you provided to our mother. The detail to genuine, loving, human, professional care provided by this team far exceeded our expectations. We could not imagine how we would have ever made it through this difficult time without them. Being admitted into a nursing home for yourself, or a loved one, is a daunting task. However, the staff at Riverside displayed the most genuine loving care we could have ever hoped for throughout the day and night. Should I ever require nursing home care for myself, I hope it is this one or one exactly like this one and this team. These are truly exceptional people in every regard. Thank you. We will never forget your kindness. Again, thank you so very much!! The Leona Vontom family
My mom stayed here for little less than a year. One of her stages of dementia was becoming combative. She could have been recalling her first husband physically abusing her. She was alright if they left her alone. Every time we came there, there was always a new problem. We found her laying in her own soiled clothes to the point of the bed needing changing. Regular bathing and not feeding her seemed to be a problem. My sister would come in to help with the showers so she would get one and we would bring in food for her to make sure she ate. Because she wouldn't cooperate, she sometimes didn't get her medicine. The list just kept going on. I'm pretty sure the staff hated seeing us because we were always getting after them. The staff was always changing. Finally we had to call the police because one of the staff was reported hitting my mom and giving her a black eye. Due to the lack of evidence and no witness's, she was never charged. My mom was unable to communicate well, so she couldn't be a witness. When we reported it to the state, they had no record of the facility reporting it at the time. It isn't known whether the worker is still there or not. According to one of the workers there, the alleged person reported got to come back and work nights so we wouldn't know she was back. By this time we weren't able to move her because of her combativeness on her record. None of the other homes wanted to take her. My mom ended up dying there. Dementia is a horrible disease, and in my opinion, this place just made matters worse. Lisa McGahan, I didn't know the administrator of this place could leave a review.
My Mom's care was wonderful! Everyone was helpful, loving and caring. I now visit with our dog and the residents love it. Lots of activities and outings to keep your loved one busy while there for Rehab. Thank you Riverside for helping get my Mom back home so quick.
Do NOT take your loved one's hear. We choose this place for our mother to go thinking it was a good place and we were very wrong!!!! They don't have enough staff to help feed your loved ones nor do they have the time an an aide and Nurse said. After demanding to do labs and a urine test cause our mom was going down hill after a week only there and her labs were off the charts and is now in kidney failure due to malnutrition and dehydration. She was emergency transfers to the ER and is in kidney failure. They best hope our mom makes it.😭
