Having Kristin's help has been a wonderful gift to our family. After meeting my parents, she followed their cues and fostered a trusting relationship. Her clinical expertise and professional manner have been key in assisting with doctor's appointments, troubleshooting medical equipment challenges, and addressing medication questions. My brother and I are so happy to have Krisin involved, but I know no one appreciates her more than my parents. She supports them as they enjoy the indepence of living at home. Kristin is an excellent communicator and approaches challenges with positivity and a can-do attitude, this goes such a long way when navigating the complexities of medical care can be so frustrating. Our work with Riverside Care Advisors has far exceeded our expectations, and we are so happy to have these supports in our community.

To say that Jennifer and her team at Riverside Care Advisors are incredibly helpful is a MAJOR understatement. Dealing with and trying to navigate through the pain of the deteriorating health of a parent is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I was given a recommendation to call Jennifer and let her listen to our families situation with our mom. Jennifer immediately responded the same day I left her a message and by the end of the next day she was already meeting with my mom to evaluate the situation. My mom was dealing with Vascular Dementia and at the end, she wasn't very nice to many people, but she had a great connection to Jennifer. She was made comfortable by the entire Riverside team and throughout my moms last month of life, they made her the most relaxed and calm I had seen her in a long time. Unfortunately, she did lose her battle with her sickness, but Riverside Care Advisors made it so much more manageable for our entire family. Currently, my dad, who is 93 is not doing great. I've once again contacted Jennifer and she is currently working us through the process again to make his remaining time with us more manageable for the entire family as well as my dad. I sincerely have never written any review before for any product or service; however Riverside Care Advisors performed so far above and beyond anything we could have imagined, I really felt the need to let everyone know how wonderful and caring they are!!
Before I write anything, I MOST HIGHLY RECOMMEND Riverside Care Advisors!! If you are looking for assistance and /or guidance in dealing with an aging parent, you NEED to look into this company. Patty Hoffman and Kristen Arcand stepped in at a time when our family needed them most. First, I never knew there was a service such as this until a friend mentioned it to me. I jumped on it immediately as I needed help desperately. I called and spoke to Patty who explained all of the services they offer, and then introduced me to Kristen who became our personal care advisor. Why are they so phenomenal? Well- sit back and enjoy reading about the services that they have provided. If you are looking for help for your family and loved ones who are ill and/or aging please continue reading. As a little background, my father, age 90, was hospitalized for 10 days with what turned out to be a septic UTI. We quickly realized that he would be unable to return to his home and would need to be transferred to a rehab facility to hopefully recover enough to come home to semi independent living. But we were totally uncertain that that would be possible. Enter Riverside Care Advisors. With very little notice, Kristen met us at the hospital on the day he would be discharged to meet us in person and be part of the discharge process. Prior to this, she helped us find the exact right Rehab facility where he would get the most help in recovering from his sepsis where he almost died. I had so many questions and concerns. She was ALWAYS available either by phone, text or email to answer all my questions and to help ease the burden of the many tasks that are involved with an aging parent who needs a lot of assistance. It was actually remarkable how quickly she would respond to me when I reached out. Furthermore, Riverside Care Advisors work as a team so when she could not take him to an appt. from the rehab, there was someone else in the office available to pick up the slack and step in. You see, I live in California and cannot be there 24/7 in the event of a problem or illness. She made it possible for me to return home to California to be with my own family for a while knowing that he would be well taken care of at the rehab and that they would be available to facilitate anything Dad needed. The following are just some of the services they provided to our family: Helping us find the BEST rehab facility for his needs.(So vital when your family is in crisis) Calling to make appts. at service providers. Speaking with the nurses and rehab clinicians to clarify medication and progress. Setting up meetings for Care Plans that we needed to put in place. Taking dad to drs. appts. if there wasn't someone from the family able to do this. Taking copious notes at the appts. to communicate with me about everything that transpired at the appt. Offering to bring Thanksgiving Dinner into the rehab for him. When Kristen would have to be at the rehab for any reason, she would stop in and visit with dad. Being a liaison between the Nurse Managers, the social worker and the family. Offering to come to the house before he comes home to assess safety and accommodations. Ordering equipment if necessary for the client. I could go on and on but perhaps the most important things they gave us were peace of mind and security knowing we had help navigating a very confusing and difficult process. Dad will be coming home within a week and they are continuing to serve us. They are willing to do as little or as much as we need with the most patient, compassionate demeanor. They have been a very important part of his recovery and my sanity.
Consulting with Jennifer Pilz of Riverside Care Advisors gave my family a great deal of clarity and support as we made decisions regarding my 93 year old mother's care. Upon the advice of our attorney, we sought a geriatric professional's opinion of her needs and ability to make informed decisions. Jennifer's detailed assessment was used by our attorney in drafting a Caregiver Agreement and was welcomed by my mother's medical team. My mother, who is sometimes distrustful of strangers, was at ease when she video conferenced (due to the pandemic) with Jennifer. Jennifer was prompt in answering emails and returning phone calls. I highly recommend Riverside Care Advisors for families seeking advice and support for an elderly family member.
10 stars! Cannot say enough about Riverside Care Advisors. They have helped my brother and I navigate through some very rough seas with our elderly parents. We’ve received excellent guidance around care options and fierce advocacy and support throughout multiple parent health crises. Jennifer Pilz, our care advisor, has helped us to stay afloat and we couldn’t be doing this without her.
