I was there after a car accident with multiple fractures and I had great therapists PT/OT which helped me big time to learn how to walk again. I highly recommend the rehabilitation gym which is renovated and has awesome professionals! The administration and front desk are great too! From wheelchair 🦽 to walker. From walker to life ✌🏼.

I am a recently retired widower whose lease expires in nine days, suddenly diagnosed with COPD, hospitalized then prescribed pulmonary rehabilitation all while I'm supposed to be looking for a new house. Alone and frightened I walk into Riverfront Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, a place chock full of bitchy geriatrics and I assumed dysfunctional staff, all the while thinking… “This is going to be just awful". WRONG !!! Within the first hour I am visited bedside by the Director, then rapid fire assessments by a Doctor, Psychologist and Social Worker to formulate a plan of action. Lastly, I am introduced to the nurses who will assist me throughout my stay. Over the next 21 days, I witness doctors, nurses, physical therapists and staff rising above their abusive patients while rendering aid and comfort consistently. The accommodations are reminiscent of a hospital offering room service, laundry service, parties, game rooms with daily events, deliveries of all kinds, a beauty salon, snacks, beverages, WiFi, flat screen TV, bathroom, shower, daily Rehabilitation sessions and medication routines by empathetic diligent nurses, even a smoking terrace overlooking Cooper River park. The chef is energetic and creative. The physician Megan is a compassionate, dedicated professional. The physical therapy is rendered by knowledgeable medical specialists. Ciara the Social Worker who is more akin to a Miracle Worker, successfully navigated to completion my residency issue allowing me to focus solely on recovery. This is truly a sanctuary of healing for mind and body. If you by chance run across a less than stellar review of this facility please disregard it, some people are just never satisfied.
This place is the worse! They have toxic airborne particles in the air and we got sick. Most of the worker do not want to do their job! The food they gave my mom everyday looked like dog food. One day her eggs smelled like rotten dead animals. I always visited my mother 2-3 times everyday. I cleaned and changed her and they thank me for doing their job SMH. One day my mom was not changed for almost 3 hours I told the aid and the aid had an attitude with me. My mom caught a bladder infection from neglect. I always checked on her but when I went to work that’s when she was neglected. I reported to the staff supervisor that my mom had a bladder infection and they never gave my mom meds so I removed my mom from that hell whole and they wear not letting my mom go easily the social worker kept trying to talk my mom and me, out of transferring out of there and she kept delaying the process for over a week and I did know that I could have reported the Social worker. Now my mom is in a way better place with her own room and better food! No rude roommate!
I have been to two other facilities and I have to say this was by far one of the best and cleanest ones I have came into. Mike and kimmy were truly amazing at helping me with my recovery. The food was good always got what I requested. Really loved how recreation kept me busy with bingo and the facility had smoking breaks for us residents and the patio is very clean would highly recommend this place to everyone and if need be this would be my first choice for another rehab stay thanks to all who helped with me getting back to the community
I was in Riverfront for four months. One thing I learned there was to get off of my pity potty. There are people with much greater issues to overcome than I had. Doing physical therapy at Riverfront was made fun by the incredible staff. They pushed you with a smile and made physical therapy something to look forward to everyday. As talented as they all are, it really comes down to what each patient puts into therapy. They can only lead you with their knowledge. It is up to you to give 100%. I worked mostly with Adam & Marie. Two beautiful people who I will miss not seeing everyday. And of course there was Kim. Thank you guys!!! I will always remember you guys fondly. I feel remiss in not mentioning every therapist on the staff. However, each and everyone of you are incredible people. You all should be so proud of the positive impact you have on peoples lives. The nursing staff were good too. And I am sorry for making you all chase me down to administer my meds because I bolted off to therapy. Let's just say I was sorry with a chuckle. But no matter what you got it done! And a big thank you to Erika & Lisa. And the new social worker. I'm sorry I forgot your name. I know I was a challenge to get me placed but you ladies got it done. Incredible job! Thank you! The only questionable issue I faced was the food from the kitchen. Sometimes pretty good. But other times really bad. Come on guys! Who likes bread with their eggs? How much effort does it take to put the bread in a oven for roasting? No matter I learned something very important from the meals. That is what reasonable proportions are. And how a quarter of the food I used to gorge myself with will satisfy my hunger. Because of that I have lost 39 pounds since my first weigh in at Riverfront. And I will continue until I am 180 pounds. I refuse to call this a diet because these changes will be the norm. So thank you to all the great people who work at Riverfront Rehabilitation. You made a bad situation much better. Thank you, thank you, thank you from Bob Schwartz. ✌️👍✌️
