High turnover. Unpredictable meals and medicine delivery. Cruel staff. ***What kind of people kick your mother out of her home over Thanksgiving and Christmas? The kind of people who work at Riverpoint.*** We visited our loved one here multiple times each week, yet the staff only called us for meetings twice in two years. The first time we initiated because she seemed to need adjusted services. They agreed. We adjusted medicine, which created some short term mobility issues for about three months while we got the dosage right. During that period, Riverpoint told our mother she was "not allowed to walk anymore" because she kept falling. They confined her to a wheel chair and suggested we move her to memory care, though she passes every dementia test with flying colors. Then literally the Tuesday before Thanksgiving 2022, after repeated calls from us, Riverpoint told us they were kicking her out. She needed to be out in the next 5 days, they said. They claimed that she needed skilled nursing care because it took two people to lift her. This despite the fact that she could clearly stand up by herself out of her wheelchair. Another staff member told us she was difficult, and the business manager said they should not have told us that. Since we could tell they didn't want her in the home anymore, we had trouble trusting them to provide good care. We decided that it was best for our mother if we moved her to a new home. We shopped around a bit. Every home we talked to was shocked and puzzled and confused by what Riverpoint had been telling us about our mother's mobility and needs. We did tell Riverpoint that five days was not reasonable nor was it the amount of days in the contract. They didn't give us written notice for several more weeks, and by the time they did, they told us that they wanted us out before Christmas. Christmas was just two weeks from the day of written notice. Riverpoint looks nice on the outside. The facilities are attractive. But until they solve their turnover issue and get better staff that actually care about people who live there, I would never recommend this place to anyone. I'm not the kind of person to leave bad reviews, but the way they have treated us is inhuman, uncivil, and irredeemably cruel. I know elder care is complicated, but they clearly lied in their medical assessments of our mother in order to get her out of the room. Do not trust this place. Do not trust these people. Check out the picture of my U-Haul in the parking lot on December 27. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Riverpoint! Update: My mother-in-law has transitioned well to a new home and reports that she is happy for the first time in years. Riverpoint management: In response to your note below, I've already talked with the corporate office. You have my contact information. Feel free to call me.

This place is wonderful! The building is beautiful, the food is delicious, the residents are friendly and fun, and the caring staff make it top notch! The River Point transportation van has the words, 'finest assisted living in Kerrville' printed on it, and it's the truth!
I have been looking for a place for my mother. Had an appointment with Rachel London a few weeks ago. The facility is beautiful, clean and full of busy activities going on. Great smells coming from the dining room! Once I saw it on my own I knew that this was where I wanted my mother to live in her own apartment. I had another appointment with Rachel London and visited with Rhonda, who is the manager of all medical care. She was very caring with my mother. My mother was made to feel comfortable immediately loved River Point of Kerrville. She couldn’t believe how spacious and beautiful it was. All of the staff is extremely kind and caring. They even have a beauty shop that offers everything from a shampoo, cut and color all the way to manicures and pedicures. Now my mother is moving in next week and we can’t wait to see what awaits her as she begins a new chapter in her life.
Putting our father in assisted living was made so much easier by the people at River Point. Beautiful facility, kind, warm hearted people… felt like family! My father is so much happier now that he is in a safe environment. He has people to be social with and he has his privacy when needed. Thanks to Rachel and all the staff at River Point for make this transition in his life easier!
The River Point staff is very welcoming and warm to be around. The residents and staff always have smiling faces and autmatically make you feel at home and like family. I love how active the staff is with their Memory Care side and how they always make sure they are apart of all the fun activites going on in the Assisted Living side.
