If I could leave zero stars I would. The staff has zero training, patience, or empathy in treating patients with brain injuries, and even less desire to learn. To the extreme point where my family members very experienced neurologist filed complaint with adult protective services due to their complete mistreatment and discrimination against her patients very typical symptoms and behavior due to severe brain damage. Do NOT allow your family member to be admitted here if they have any cognitive deficits, as the administration and staff will take advantage of that. I would HIGHLY suggest all patients get themselves a ring camera for their room. It is your right (even if they try to tell you it isn't allowed, legally it is). If not for camera, I would have thought patient was exaggerating the mistreatment. As well as complete mishandling of medications, when visiting family member and I noticed they were not giving them the correct medication and I wanted to see the chart, the nurse then laughed and said "whoops my mistake" and somehow thought mishandling of serious narcotics was a laughing matter. The horrific experience at River Bend made an already difficult time for our family even more traumatic. Our medical system is broken, that is an unavoidable truth. However, I have never witnessed such unprofessionalism and lack of empathy as I did during visits to my family member who had the misfortune of getting admitted there. I truly pray for the residents there who do not have family advocating for them.

A friend & I came for the first time to visit 2 of your residents. Not being familiar with the building we were soon confused if not lost. An employee that we crossed paths with was very helpful in getting us to the right area of the facility. We had a nice visit.
There are some rare gems on the staff. I don’t think they have enough staff and it makes it harder and more frustrating on the good staff. A lot of staff is not familiar with different mental health issues and can lead to misunderstanding and receiving less assistance. I believe all facilities could treat staff better so they don’t become shorthanded. This affects each person there.
Refuse to answer lights. Refusing to get oriented patients out of bed. Says they have no staff. Left my mother laying in urine for hours. Food is horrible and cold. Most staff are arguamentive. If you love you family member dont bring them there.
The people that work at Riverbend are amazing! I feel good about my dad being in there. I know he will be taking care of unlike other places.
