We had to move my dad into a memory care home which is a dreaded experience in itself. We went to 16 different homes in and outta of the piedmont triad area, because we wanted the best for my dad. We met with Tressa Hogan with Richland Square after seeing 5 other locations and immediately felt that this was the place, but my mom and sister had a list and said we need to be sure so we visited all 16 and met with the other folks. It was amazing how many said so yall are looking at a lot have you seen any that stand out so far. When we would say Richland Square so far has our vote and their response was Tressa is amazing I actually trained under her and if you don’t choose us you can’t go wrong with her. We heard that multiple times so that just drove home we needed to be there. Now that we have been here for about 2 months we are extremely happy with our decision. Tressa made the transition (which is extremely hard taken your loved ones to a home) as easy and quick as possible, she would update us with photos of how he was doing and kept us in the loop because you can’t go for 2 weeks while someone in his condition gets acclimated. The whole staff has been great I highly recommend Richland Square!!!!

We had a terrible experience at Richland and moved our mother after 8 months. The place smells like urine, residents wander around, disheveled and bored. There’s a calendar of daily events posted that never happen. Huge turnover of staff, the majority of the patient care staff is lazy, rude and doesn’t engage with the residents unless they have to. Despite labeling all of our mother’s clothing most of it went missing or was seen being worn by other residents. Resident rooms are unlocked and people wander in and out, sometimes it would take 10 minutes to even locate our mother when we visited. Thankfully we found a much better facility with no chaos, caring staff and it’s actually at a lower cost.
I had so many questions about my Mother and her situation. I was able to sit with Tressa and really understand what her needs will be. She was so helpful and kind.
Richland Square provides great care and socialization for its residents, in a family-like setting. I have placed many of my clients here, and the families have been very happy. It is obvious the team specializes in memory care, and they aren’t deterred by a case other facilities may find too difficult. The residents are treated with dignity and respect, and their lives are enriched through engaging activities all day. Tressa Hogan, the admissions and marketing director, provides outstanding communication, and she will be a wonderful advocate for you and your loved one.
They are ALWAYS short of staff so how is my family member getting the proper care? The ED that is there is fairly RUDE. Its all types of spiders and insects in that building there is no way state comes and sees nothing for that building to be still up and running. Laundry NEVER done. Rooms smell like pee all the time. Please be sure to look at EVERYTHING before placing your family member here PLEASE.
