I am receiving bills for my deceased mother who was on Medicaid. The person who worked in the office when my mother's Medicaid was to be renewed asked me to bring in current paperwork for the next year's benefit approval about 5 months before Mom passed. I submitted the information within 2 days and was told that she had again been approved only to find out after she left for a new job and no one filled her position that this had not been done. I have spoken to the replacement, who told me that they were getting a lot of calls pertaining to bills and confirmed that some residents Medicaid had not been updated due to staff shortage. I also left messages for the Administrator (so don't tell me to call her) and called and spoke to Jasmine at Extended Care, LLC at which time she told me that someone would return my call. Guess what? Almost 3 weeks later and no one has. I have been told by several offices that this is their problem and these charges are not owed as the spend down criteria were met. So she passed almost 6 months ago and I again received bills in yesterday's mail. So if anyone else is having this same problem, you are not alone. This place is a joke.

Mom had an awful expereince with Thrive in Lisle and we moved her to Renwick Nursing and Rehab. What a difference! Staff is kind and talented. They are attentive to our mom and truly care. She is def doing better here-shout out to Nurse Sheila for her patience, intelligence and communication skills-we went to her with questions and she took the time to really talk with us and make sure we understood what was happening and came up with a plan of care that we all felt good about.
If I could give this place, a half a star or none I would. No one knows what’s going on. Communication is very poor. Meals are horrible and they do not answer. Call lights. I would not leave my enemy at this place. In addition, they did not notify people until weeks later that the normal virus was going around their facility. I brought it home to my entire family, including my 81-year-old father for Christmas. do not bring your loved ones here! They are rated one out of four stars for a reason
I am adding to the top of this review because your response is inaccurate. I still have no refund. So please don’t think my concerns were addressed. You cashed a check from a dementia patient without permission and have been reported to multiple agencies, and the attorney general for taking advantage of a Medicare patient with dementia —————————— I would have given this place five stars if I only had to review the staff. Nurses were great, CNAs are great, Jenni with admissions is great. However the business office cashed a deposit check they weren’t supposed to as my dad was on Medicare. My dad passed away 3 months ago and I still have not gotten that money back. I also went one whole month without hearing from the business manager Sarah after multiple emails and calls. Still no refund! As if that’s what a family wants to deal with after their parents death.
My Mom has been at River Crossing for 3 years now. She has gotton exceptional care from all the staff including the nurses, social workers activity directors, housekeeping, receptionist and others. I have been so pleased at how accommodating everyone has been. She loves the meals. She has multiple medical problems and dementia and she is treated so kindly by staff. Thank you!!
